Do you think they instruct the blocker to return those loops off the table more than normal? Would that sell more rubber lol?
I think they block that way to keep it consistent. If you let the rubber do most of the work trying to absorb the spin then it'll show the sensitivity better.
You could always block firmer but that would be less scientific.

First impressions with the Zyre 03 2.7mm.
If Forehand: Replacement for T05hard
If Backhand: Upgrade to Dignics 05.

The greatest quality of zyre 03 is how its an automatic rubber. Kinda like how tenergy is but in dignics' body. The hardness isn't asymmetrical.
The topsheet and sponge have almost the same give, so the amount of pace and spin you can send is insane.

It also feels softer than 09c, and similar hardness to dignics 05 just due to the soft topsheet.

Open-ups are very spinny and lands very deep.

Will continue trying as backhand rubber,
As forehand it does not fit my contact.

Thanks for the report. Keep us updated on the durability, that will be the main thing at that price.

TT Karahashi rated this as the spinniest rubber they've ever tested (tied with Hybrid K3 Pro) and as fast as Dignics 64.

QD: Zyre-03 doesn't bite the ball at all...
FZD after 1 day as per QD: Zyre-03 is shit...

Why would you assume so ?

Did it say that somewhere ? FZD did play H3BS on forehand and probably Dig09c on BH because he is told to do so by BTY. There is no reason why he would compare it with something he is "forced" to play, but rather something that he himself chose to play with (namely hurricane 3 blue sponge).

It’s implied in Zeio’s comment that he compared it to D09c same as Dang Qiu since he uses D09c on both sides. There’s no reason to compare this new D05 like Japanese rubber to H3.
And I’m pretty sure FZD likes D09c on the backhand and he would just walk away from butterfly if using D09c was compensating his game, he does not need more money. He was also seen trying the H3 on the backhand during one of the trials back in 2023 or 2024 and he immediately switched back to D09c from the next tournament onwards.

over half a year ago, a star BTY player said its a beginner rubber
Sometime in 2028:
  • Pro coaches like @Tony's Table Tennis et al, will recommend new students: Tenergy and Fastarc G1 as these are considered classic all-round rubber by then.
  • Korbel and Primorac will be Butterfly Premade bat.
  • Innerforce and Viscaria will be standard beginner's blade.

Viscaria is still widely used by semi pros today and the past few years.
