Choppers favouring backhand serves

Is it just me, or do choppers tend to use backhand serves a lot? Is there a particular reason for it?

I would say it's to do with the fact that choppers have inverted foot stance and hence it's more natural to serve backhand to any angle of the table and be in a better position to defend than it is to serve forehand and then move into position, also they can serve backhand from the middle and still favour a more backhand dominant position on the table which is particularly useful for players who use slower control rubber, pips or anti on their backhand. That answer works for me PingPongPom, for the most part. After thinking about it a bit more, wouldn't the sidespin of the serve drag the ball over to the forehand side, making it harder to play due to the inverted stance?

Not if it's not a sidespin serve, you'll find most players have practised enough to have their placement fairly well tuned with these things and it's not too difficult to control the direction of the ball even with more sidespin imparted on the ball.

I have found every chopper I have played there is one if particular who uses backhand services to twiddle the bat so that he can use a fast serve and just before the contact is made the bat is struck with the pimples so that it is awkward, I think they favour backhand services for the reasons above from PingPongPom as well as deception of the spin.
