cutting knives for rubber

for my next job I bought these blades

(this is without referral.. so go ahead and take a look)
these blades are coated, and I hope they go through the rubber without the need of a lubricant like oil.
it isn't that I can't cut well, like with scissors or x-acto knife/blade but just trying to see what's the easiest way to cut rubbers.

I know at least one table tennis store that does a much worse job, so maybe you can apply for a job there

What are they coated with? I can't see in the description where it says they're coated...
But that racket in the photos is for sure a nice cutting job, was that with scissors or box cutter?
In any case I hope these blades do the job for you seeing as the minimum purchase is 25 of them! 😁

This was with a scalpel blade. But you have to lube the scalpel and cut in multiple passes.

I received the coated blades. I experimented with an old rubber I have, and the blade does go through the rubber in one pass. But it’s heavy duty. You have to do it perfect the first time.

Which number scalpel blade are you using?

Don't go for 18mm, go for 9mm, speaking about box-cutter... Cheers.

Nr 18. It’s similar as no. 19 to no. 24 blades with a curved edge.

Have you tried a rotating cutting board?
If your particular about cutting it well then this can help a lot.

Nr 18. It’s similar as 19 a 24 with a curved edge.

I am using 25A but I'm switching to No23. Also No 18 seems perfect

That's a cool gadget!
I am using a thick wooden cutting board from IKEA (leaving the handle outside the board) and works just fine.

you could try on the off cuts, i normally test the sharpness of the blade on the off cut area before going into the cut

My experience is the complete opposite, I would never choose the 9mm one, because it bends too easily, making it much harder to get a neat cut along the edge of the blade.

The sharpness isn't what I'm worried about, it's my wife's reaction
