I have been using H3 for many years, but my last H3 National Blue sponge has been a disappointment. Very little tack or grip. Using on an S968. Any options that anyone can suggest. If I could find the last H3 commercial that I had on the blade, I'd go back to it.
Is it only for me or Haifu Seamoon really does last only for 1-2 days?
When I boost (or reboost, it doesn't matter) with 1 layer of Haifu the effect on the first day is amazing. The second day is already meh, playable but already feels dead'ish. And on the third and later it's unplayable pretty much...
I am boosting Skyline 2 prov. blue sponge. I think it's the same for Hurricane rubbers.
I've tried falco long time ago, but forgot how long does it last...any suggestion on the longer-lasting booster? I think I am on the verge of switching from DHS FH since 1-2 days is just too much of a hassle to boost that frequently...
It's also quite dry where I live since cold Russian winters require much heating and that causes the air to be a bit too dry, may be that affects how fast the booster evaporates? It really sinks into a sponge completely in 1 hour. 2 layers may be 3 hours total.
2 months sounds very good compared to what I experience. For me H3BS it last about 2 months if I push it.
I think Battle 3 lasts longer tho, 3-4 months.
I'm so torn tho too. I like H3BS, I like B3, maybe B3 has more potential, it has stronger topsheet(I especially notice that with old D40 DHS balls that don't wanna spin at all), and more durable and better in humid and better against oxidation.
But torn on boosting, sometimes it's good sometimes it's a miss. And I do the same thing so I'm unsure why.
Lately I think I just prefer to use rubbers that don't necessarily need boosting, like the Piny Cuifeng or Quanshibao F1 which are pretty nice rubbers unboosted, easily comparable with H3BS when it's getting unboosted to about 70%, which is still not bad. Problem is they are a big hard to acquire outside of China.
Or there's Vega China too, that's a nice rubber too and no need to fiddle with it.
Maybe Nittaku H3 turbo blue but it's so heavy 60+g cut 🤕
The National "gold package" for me was a dud. The golden version is not bad.2 months sounds very good compared to what I experience.
I am waiting for 729 Battle II National (golden package) and Battle II gold (purple sponge) to arrive. I've used 729 B2 prov. blue sponge, but in my experience it can't be compared to DHS rubbers, unfortunately. Less spin and top spins are not that aggressive/deadly as from h3/tg2. So no real expectations from these 729 B2s.
I think I am on the verge of switching from DHS FH since 1-2 days is just too much of a hassle to boost that frequently...
Something is wrong there. 2 days is like speed glue territory. In fact probably with H3N speedglue lasts longer.Man, you really got a ton of patience ;-) I can't do it more frequently than after 2 months... I'm using only single layer nowadays, a bit of dome and enough...
stay away from it. I already have too much speed with other normal rubbersI’m itching to try Zyre 03 on my w968. Has anybody tried this combo ?
If h3 works fine for you then why change? This is my first time hearing about this H8-20 rubber and definitely am curious about it since people are saying it's got the Hurricane 8 topsheet and #20 sponge. I use H3N 37° on my backhand and would like hear about people's experience that way I can possibly buy it and try it out for myself.
Depending on how the H8-20 goes (whenever it gets to the US lol), I will either stick with it or stay with my H3 🙂 I play good with H3, but simply I just wanted to try this out since I have never heard of that version before. If h3 works fine for you then why change?
I've got a present from my fellow table tennis players: red H3 Ma Long Star Edition 37'. It's awesome and very, very consistent rubber. Also quite tacky. After break-in period it now plays very well, even for RPB blocking. I've only put 1 layer of regular cheapest seamoon, already 9 days passed and it's still a very good rubber.
I now want orange NEO h3 star edition with orange sponge, unfortunately it doesn't exist...I've tried twiddling and this ML version works well for forehand too, only speed is not enough.
Just for fun I've also tried Stiga DNA Dragon Grip, I don't recommend this one. It's stable, it has some speed, but much less spin and power than even 37' h3...
It’s really good. It’s like 90% of a D09c@joshmak10 How do you like Hurricane 8-80 Provincial? I'm stuck with it now since PROTT offered me $15USD refund for giving me the wrong H8 rubber and I don't really want to go through the hassle of trying to ship back the rubber from US to China lol
Thanks! My rubber came in pretty heavy with ~55g cut w/2 layers of booster and 1 layer of glue before boosting and 1 layer after boosting 😢It’s really good. It’s like 90% of a D09c
Not surprised. 8-80 is pretty heavy. But fyi, 8-20 is heavierThanks! My rubber came in pretty heavy with ~55g cut w/2 layers of booster and 1 layer of glue before boosting and 1 layer after boosting 😢
In my experience, H8-20 is 3g lighter than H8-80 at the same hardness. Not surprised. 8-80 is pretty heavy. But fyi, 8-20 is heavier
