DIY booster with kerasine

This user has no status.
So i had a brainwave that some people use kerosine (lighter fluid) and/or baby oil (mineral oil) to make the sponge expand or just to make the sponge softer. And I thought of a brilliant idea of mixing both of them together! I thought putting 100% kerosine on the sponge would make it expand a bit too much and make the effect very short (chat gpt said the effect may dissapear after about 7 hours after application), so i decided to do a 20% kerosine and 80% mineral oil mixture thinking the mineral oil would let the kerasine evaporate in smaller intervals, but I had mistakenly added a little bit more of kerosine than I wanted (about 20% more than i needed) and after putting 1 thick layer on the DHS hurricane 3 neo and waiting 9 hours i put it on the blade to see how it feels. Its WAY faster and spinier than just simply putting mineral oil. And after 4 days the effect is rather the same and still noticible, after the experiment I noticed that boosting isn't for me.
Tool tip:
Kerosine is able to dissolve several kinds of plastics so make sure to use a cup made of glass or paper.
PROS:
SIGNIFICANTLY FASTER
SOFTER SPONGE
MORE SPIN
CONS:
ILLEGAL EQUIPMENT
SPONGE EXCEEDS 4mm
SOFTER SPONGE
TAD BIT HEAVIER
WARNING: EXPERIMENTING WITH KEROSINE IS DANGERIOUS, PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE WORKING WITH IT. PROCEED WITH CAUTION WHEN WORKING WITH KEROSINE OR VOCs IN GENERAL.

If it is kerosene you are talking about, I can tell you it works much better in a lamp than as a booster…

Cheers

it is also good on your heels when you have blisters. 😁

I vaguely remember an incident, accident i mean , when I probably tried to get rid of a layer of glue . Somehow some Mineral turpentine got involved and it swelled the sponge drastically.
I put this rubber away because it stunk too much and forgot about it . A couple of weeks later it had stopped stinking of mineral turps but the sponge was still twice the thickness. So I glued it on a blade and happily played with it for many moons 🤣

I guess you can try any solvent really but some are more advisable than others!
Kerosine would be a no no for me. The smell must be absolutely awful 😬

While i doubt its qualities as a booster I do not mind the smell of Kerosine. We are all different of course I also quite like the smell of diesel exhaust fumes and of course the smell of Napalm in the morning 😁
