Does a slower blade with a Viscaria-like feeling exist?

@ttarc

I dont share your opinion on the G1.
For me its the compleze opposite of what you describe.
Btw, is the G1 really an esn rubber?
I second your opinion and yes FastArc Series is produced by ESN, just like the Rakza Series which makes it very funny that the Rakza Z is less available in the country it is manufactured than in Japan.

I would also like ttarc to elaborate on his opinion and about why the G-1 would be wasted time for anybody.

The DHS H301 feels mostly like a slightly slower Viscaria. It is flexier though so some really hard hits/loops makes it feel a bit faster. But over all, a slightly slower blade with the simlilar feeling.

Everyone has a weakness.
If mine turns out to be cheap Aliexpress tabletennis blades, I think I can manage fine 😂
Being interested and curious is not really a weakness. I just bought a couple of Boer Lion blades,
for probably about US $ 2 a pop...........................I was also """interested """" to see what a load of rubbish one gets for that money. Well, this is of course a coincidence but for a start it measures 1520 HZ. It is a stiff blade, 6.3mm thick
It weighs 78gr .So the weight and the frequency is at least similar to a Viscaria. ;)
Before i could play, I had to take the handles of, flatten them and glue them on properly.
and with a H3 on FH and a Loki Rxton5 (BS) on the BH I can play
with it just fine........ 😁

I'll try to explain why I don't like G-1: 1. at that time I was using mainly slower 5-ply blades. This combined with the high throwing G-1 results in much safety when looping/opening up etc. but also gives the opponents easy chances to finish. 2. short game where the G-1 can be quite unpredictable i.e. balls popping up or going into the net if the blade angle/input power is only slightly changed (V>11 or V>15 didn't show this for example) 3. the ESN rubbers that I tried all preferred (to a varying degree) loops that engage the sponge. This works okayish on my BH but not on my FH.

The Yinhe 970 XX-K behaves exactly like a viscaria, but with less power, so more control. I had one after I sold a Viscaria, with H3 on FH and H3 37° on BH you get the real deal, to me it is the true baby viscaria.

Try a clone of Viscaria - Stuor sold on Aliexpress. It has lower speed and similar feel without spending a lot of money. If you buy, ask the seller for a blade with a low weight of about 85 - 86 grams, often heavier blades are faster, but you need the other way around.
have you tried it yourself? I wonder if it is softer/slower/ has less or more vibrations comapred to original viscaria

Yes, I played with this blade myself. I bought it for a friend and we can exchange rackets with him to try it out. I found it to be softer and a little slower than the original. The vibrations feel similar to the original Viscaria.

20-30% might be a bit of a push, but you have a few options:
  • You could go for slower, rather than softer rubbers, possibly in slightly thinner than Max. For example, for me Spinlord Ozelot is noticeably slower than the latest ESN Tensors or Butterfly rubbers, but the top sheet is just as grippy, if not better than some. The new Ozelot Pro is faster, but still a bit slower than the latest German or Japanese rubbers. Also it might be worth looking at slightly older generation rubbers or ones aimed at intermediate rather than advanced players.
  • A light weight Viscaria
  • A Donic Ovtcharov/Original True Carbon feels quite like a Viscaria and the couple I have tried have definitely been a bit slower. I also recently tried a Nittaku Gyo-En, which was a little harder feeling, but still reasonably close, and I would say slightly slower than a similar weight Viscaria
How about the handle of Donic Ovt original true carbon compare to Vis?
