Does the color of the table matters a lot?

Unless you have colour asthenopia nah. I have played on blue, green, purple and black tables. You get used to colours really quick. Other playing conditions like lighting actually matter imo, but you get used to those too and have to.

for me the colour doesn't matter too. what messes with me more if i trained on a stop table but play the match on a slide table. sometimes you don't know this before and then it takes a lot of time for me to get the feel for it. sometimes i even need to change tactics.

Agree with the above, the table color doesn't really matter. Lighting matters more, table friction matters more, and even wall color matters more. If you're playing with white balls in a place with white walls nearby you can lose track of the ball much easier, for example.

Given that the background and glare and light distribution and table friction and venue noise issues are OK, the table color does matter...

... in regard that the type of paint job matters... if it gets real shiny real soon, then the table adds to the glare and difficulty to pick up and track the ball.

A good table should be matte and not reflect light. Some of the older table makers got that.

DHS SUBSTANDARD TABLE. The Intrigues hidden under carpet.
Why ever does ITTF make decisions in favour of DHS equipment of inferior quality with no good reason?
Scratch my back and I will scratch yours, -- this is a proper answer here, we guess.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Good to see DHS table was not a product of choice for Asian Champs 2024. Instead, Asian TT Union have now opted for 729 product, both the ball and table.
