Hey all,

This is my last review before the summer holidays and could potentially be a controversial one, but I'm still going to put it here and we see where the chatter goes hahaha

Donic BlueGrip C2 Review.jpeg

So I just finished the review of the Donic BlueGrip C2 (and also finished with reviewing BlueGrip for a while) and the feeling I had was that tackiness level aside (D09c is much tackier), the C2 is actually pretty similar to the Dignics 09c. Maybe it's just me, I totally did not expect it when I started testing it, but in practice, it felt like a non-tacky D09c with a lower throw angle and a bit less spin/power/ball quality overall, but not far off.

So if you want to read the whole review, here it is: https://www.tabletennisequipmenthelp.com/blog/donic-bluegrip-c2-review

And if you are in a hurry, check the TL;DR here as always:

CategoryDonic BlueGrip C2
WeightHeavy-ish, around 50g cut to my Fang Bo B2X blade
Sponge & TopsheetHard 55 sponge (feels softer) with a slightly tacky topsheet
Spin potentialLots of spin on most shots, very high spin potential
Speed & GearsMany gears but faster than S1 in all of them
Throw angleHigh throw angle, higher than S1 and Rakza Z
Drives & LoopsA lot of power that activates pretty easily
ServesVery good spin, similar or a bit more than NUZN 48
FlicksEasy due to the high throw and catapult, less safety than S1
PushesDecent control and high spin, good for long pushes
BlocksGood blocking but more difficult than with S1
Flat hitsNot very good, it is safer in combination with brushing
BoostingI would not boost it, there is no need for it
Price & DurabilityAverage for ESN rubbers, usually between 45-55€

Thanks for reading and I'm curious what your experiences with this rubber were and whether I'm the only crazy guy who thinks this could be a budget D09c alternative :D

Take care and see you next time for a review of the new Joola Trinity rubbers of Hugo Calderano!

Thanks

Victor

will come promised ;)
I am still waiting for the TG2 BS to come, but I found out the Quan Shi bao rubber, and it has picked up my interest. Fang Bo's brand. I will do a review of the TG2 and if I buy the QSB F1, I might review it too. It is a H3 blue boosted alternative.

I'm also waiting for the Vega China review! How's does the C2 compare to rakza Z?
They are both Euro hybrids but at quite different ends of the spectrum. C2 is much harder than RZ, RZ is much stickier than C2. RZ has better feeling of dwell and arc generation but it lacks the penetrating quality C2 offers on hard shots. Whereas C2 is more direct, faster and meatier, but not quite as grabby/spinny or as safe as RZ

I tried it and unboosted I did not like it, way too slow and hard. Then I boosted twice like id boost a H3N, and it reminded me a lot of D09C but more controlled, kinda a H3N but higher throwing and a bit slower :)

Once booster was done it was back to muah, so thats that :)

Not really haha It was the wang chuqin blade, which is fast enough id say! but out of the box that LAC was slow to the point I had to force my technique so that was no good (although Rxton 5 is waaaay worse here), but being used to H3N boosted it was more demanding physically and didnt like it much :)
