why is the index of top of the handleAttaching some pictures how I held the racket. index finger has noteable pressure on fh, but strong (after a while painful) if I press the my thumb on bh to get an open angle
thanks for your help!
the picture that is named "BH" is already my backhand grip. as you can see, my angle is quite open, so my success rate on backhand topspin was very high and easy to spin and put on the table.why is the index of top of the handle
apart from that, everything is good! Now, I want to see you hold it like RPB
I think it's because your index is on top of the handle, not just the tip...the picture that is named "BH" is already my backhand grip. as you can see, my angle is quite open, so my success rate on backhand topspin was very high and easy to spin and put on the table.
but with this grip, the side of my middle bone at index finger is under constant pressure, which cant be natural
Look at how I hold the racket. I think it's because your index is on the handle...Another example, I overexaggerate the grip here a little bit to highlight my problem.
When I press the thumb for RPB, my index finger naturally goes up. So I have to close it purposefully. And , it sorts of acts like a "counter balance" between the thumb and the middle and ring finger for holding the racket
but how do you play RPB with that grip? I tried it but I cant get an open angle at all.Look at how I hold the racket. I think it's because your index is on the handle...

The way I held it, the angle is very nice and open for blocking and looping
If I adjust my index finger, yes it gets more comfortable on FH but RPB I can only use the edge of the racket![]()
It makes sense. But if I look at the second picture, your angle is quite closed, e.g. for blocking.
We were talking about different things 😂😂😂 Mb andro Sandro also thanks for sending the juicy hand picsYes! Someone who gets it!
No! Someone who doesn't!
Most players have it on there. It’s completely fine if the grip is comfertable.why is the index of top of the handle
So commandingapart from that, everything is good! Now, I want to see you hold it like RPB
New players need to have a more open angle for rpb. Try keeping it on the table straight to stretch your wrist . This stretch wi help you improve racket angle for RPB
You should be able to open it up till the point your racket is fully open. Some people also push with rpb. If you can’t properly open it then you might want to change your grip a bitIt makes sense. But if I look at the second picture, your angle is quite closed, e.g. for blocking.
Yes, it is possible to play like that in shakehand too, but an open angle has many benefits, as you can let the ball sink into the sponge and dont have to extensively brush on every shot.
Is that the maximum you can open the angle on rpb in your case?
the problem is, I cant find a grip where my RPB is fully open without putting straing on my index fingerYou should be able to open it up till the point your racket is fully open. Some people also push with rpb. If you can’t properly open it then you might want to change your grip a bit
Oh my bad I was rushing the form ehe, but yeah it should be more open!It makes sense. But if I look at the second picture, your angle is quite closed, e.g. for blocking.

Yep we are Zee Ache! And of course I'll give you juicy hand pics (more in dm big boy 👅)We were talking about different things 😂😂😂 Mb andro Sandro also thanks for sending the juicy hand pics
Yeah but this may be the cause of the problem...Most players have it on there. It’s completely fine if the grip is comfertable.
Yes king, I'm that commandingSo commanding
Yeah I know I was rushing it Zee Ache!New players need to have a more open angle for rpb. Try keeping it on the table straight to stretch your wrist . This stretch wi help you improve racket angle for RPB
Do the one I did and move your wrist, cuz it works for me. Before doing that you can try using just your wrist and thumb, if it doesn't work try my grip and do it again.the problem is, I cant find a grip where my RPB is fully open without putting straing on my index finger
When I was trying various grips, I find that XuXin grip which is similar to yours here your back three fingers are almost fully straight results in a lot of pressure on the index finger. It also makes the rpb side very stiff. At least for me. Forehand is very stronger which is probably why XuXin like likes it as he is very forehand oriented.Another example, I overexaggerate the grip here a little bit to highlight my problem.

you need relatively long fingers and a pretty big hand to use Xu Xin or Dang Qiu`s grips. They have bigger hands than most players. Their grip might not work out for many. Felix Lebrun has a pretty small hand I think its better to take his grip for reference. When I was trying various grips, I find that XuXin grip which is similar to yours here your back three fingers are almost fully straight results in a lot of pressure on the index finger. For me, I did that the more I bent my back three fingers, the less pressure there is on my index finger. Everyone’s hands is different so maybe you can try bending your back three finger a little more to see it is the same for you. The other extreme is Felix or Wong Chun Ting grip which is a very curled back three fingers which is great for rpb but probably results in a less stable forehand. I would say wang hao or Dang Qiu is inbetween.
I believe that the problem might be the person putting too much force or having the index finger too shallow.Yeah but this may be the cause of the problem...
I just tried to replicate your grip. I believe you should try wrapping your index finger around the handle while leaving a bit of gap and try curling the back fingers a bit more to compensate for the loss of wrist movement that the tighter index finger may cause.Another example, I overexaggerate the grip here a little bit to highlight my problem.

Felix is tall though!you need relatively long fingers and a pretty big hand to use Xu Xin or Dang Qiu`s grips. They have bigger hands than most players. Their grip might not work out for many. Felix Lebrun has a pretty small hand I think its better to take his grip for reference.
That could be the case, but I think they did something wrong which was made worse by the finger on the handleI believe that the problem might be the person putting too much force or having the index finger too shallow.
Interesting proposal, but for me either Wang Hao or Dang Qiu is the way to goI just tried to replicate your grip. maybe try Wang Hao`s grip?
try making the index finger a bit like this:

TLDR: Try Wang Hao or Felix Lebrun grip. (Also, respond to me dude...)
What do you mean with leaving a gap? so that only the tip of my index finger touches the blade and the rest of the index finger is not really in contact with the blade?you need relatively long fingers and a pretty big hand to use Xu Xin or Dang Qiu`s grips.
