I think Donic, Nittaku and Yasaka formed an alliance/struck a deal with Wood House AB (which has handled sales of Yasaka in Sweden) a while back. Wood House AB started a company named Swedish House of Table Tennis AB that had this to say on their website, which now redirects to yasakatabletennis.com:

Yasaka , Donic? All same-same. One big happy ESN family!
Yes, Woodhouse in Sweden makes blades for both Donic and Yasaka. My club is sponsored by Donic and we had a visit from Woodhouse. They make most older blades for Donic.

Cheers

My blades are mostly Donics and Yasakas. Maybe just my imagination, but to me they have "feel characteristics" unique to their brand (in that a Yasaka feels like a Yasaka and doesn't feel like a Donic and vice versa). I like them both. It feels strange that my copies are likely made by the same company.

One thing though, the blades with a spruce top like WC89 series is made by soul spin Germany. The Waldner gold edition is made in Korea. Soul spin is also making spruce blades for Nittaku. Donic Appelgren WC89 and Nittaku S-CZ are virtually the same. Great blade I have 2 of each… One thing with spruce top. It’s very sensitive to splintering, but they have an awesome feel.
