I just hit with it today from a friend's racket. It's very good, but largely similar to other ESN offerings out there. It's very bouncy, very fast, and the standard ESN level spin.

I only hit with it for 5 minutes or so, but to me it felt largely similar to a MXP or even Victas 15 Extra.

I am interested in how the rubber plays and feels. I can't understand all the Japanese youtube videos 😅

I've been considering getting it myself just to see, but from what I've read, it appears to not be different enough from V > 15 Extra to justify the price. Yu Daisumi, who used to be the head equipment tester for World Table Tennis magazine, had this to say in comparison to V > 20 double extra (which I have played with). I would have stuck with V > 20 DE myself, however the performance drop off after a few weeks was noticeable, and the rubber became close to unusable for me. I'm more interested in V > 15 Sticky, which Koki Niwa uses but hasn't been officially announced yet.

Speed V20 > V22
Spin V20>V22
Control V20>V22

Huh?

No matter how you hit it or which technique you try, it can't beat V20.
V20 has a better feel and higher performance. This is the consensus of the three test hitters.

The most distinctive feature of V22 was its trajectory. It has a very straight trajectory and sticks.
It flies straight, very straight. Therefore, a piercing trajectory is difficult for the opponent to take.
It is easy to meet and block with the straight flying trajectory, but this is not the price of the rubber you are looking for.
There are plenty of rubbers that fly straight.

I also felt that a drive that hooks thinly with the top sheet is very effective. I felt that the V20 was more effective, but still, the V20 was more effective. There's something missing, but there are a lot of things missing. Compared to V20, which is an all-around balanced rubber, this is noticeable.

Overall, V20 is a higher-performing rubber, and V22 is a rubber that falls a few steps short. Instead, it will be useful for those who want to use a straight trajectory as a weapon.

What the three test hitters are trying to say is that there is no need to force yourself to buy it.
That's not the point. I was reminded of the V20's high performance.

The V20 is awesome, buy the V20!
If you're going to buy a V22, buy it with a good understanding of its features.

Yea. I do agree with the performance drop off of the v>20, which is really unfortunate. I really enjoy the interesting feel of the rubber as well as that audible clicking noise every time you put power into the ball. I like the rubber a lot but it was worn after just 3 weeks of play.
