Help! How to remove strongly glued rubber?

Long story short: the rubber kept ungluing itself with Revolution glue, so I used Donic Formula First. Next time I tried to change the rubber it came off with half of the top wood layer 😭 That was a 50€ Donic blade. But I have used the same glue on my Viscaria and now I'm afraid even to try and remove it. Is there a way to soften the glue? Maybe heating it with a heat gun? I don't care about damaging the rubber, btw.

Never remove the rubber top down, this is asking for trouble… Remove it side to side.

The wood is stronger against the grain and the grains runs top to bottom on the outer layer…

Go very slow and from side to side. Seal your blades before glueing.
If its really stuck on good, take some wd40 and apply from the side, try to get it between wood and sponge with a fine brush. But don't use to much, you don't want it to penetrate into the blade

Heat gun (carefully) and lots of patience. Recently had to do this on a 22-year old blade where the rubbers and sponge had frozen solid. Worked nicely, but took 2-3 hours. Light sanding when done and the blade looked new again. Recommend a thin coat of sealer before mounting the next rubber.

Sealing a blade is still the way to go, but use some sandpaper (grid 240) to slightly roughen the surface after sealing it and then glue the rubber.

Some use hairspray in stead of sealant to help the rubbers get loose but I’ve no experience with that.

Yes warming the rubber helps, like heat gun or take a damp cloth, cover the rubber and iron the rubbers. Remove the rubber with a spatula.

I doubt you needed a stronger glue, you probably just needed more layers of glue, or a 'different' glue. No need for a nuclear option at all, and especially without sealing the blade first.
This is exactly why people seal their blades tho, you just dont know what will be the reaction of glue v wood over x amount of time.
I highly recommend DHS 15 glue, best I've ever used.
I'd say pull of the rubber from the sponge and then gently heat the sponge and rub into it with a cloth or towel and it will come off. A bit of solvent towards the end, WD40 maybe, and take your time. finish by sanding lightly and a good sealing job.

Heat gun + patience. Wet the sponge where it's exposed if it's being stubborn.
