Help with hurricane 3

FTL isn't advised on chinese wubbers
According to the write up from Patrick at TT11 I shared, the oil based Falco tempo long is best used on Chinese rubbers.

In that same write up, he says limonene type boosters are good for euro rubbers.

I use Falco TL on Chinese rubbers and works quite well.

Have you tried Falco tl? What makes you say it's not advised for Chinese rubber?

It's not optimal but it will work just fine

Buzzer sound, wrong answer. 😄

If you want to use a booster that lasts the longest then Falco TL is the optimal solution.

If you want a booster that will ie have the largest increase in speed, then haifu nat yellow is the optimal solution. The downside is you'll need to reboost twice as often, every 4 to 8 weeks. This is suboptimal for me.

Depends on what your priorities are right.

Falco Tempo Long is the absolute champ for me. Adds very little speed but makes rubbers softer and adds tons of spin by easing the spin-creation process. It also lasts about 2-3 months and the smaller effect lingers further.

Kailin is also excellent, as it adds tons of speed and spin. The only downside is it kills rubbers faster and the effect evaporates in 10-14 days.

Regarding Haifu, I tried all of its versions and only liked the Yellow National one. The regular one and National Black were big disappointments as the rubbers somehow felt harder and faster, making spin creation even worse.

Just one more question, how many milliliters are necessary to boost one sheet?
1) yes you can start with cheap OS first. probably the best way to see if you actually like hurricane. if you enjoy it, then you can upgrade to provincial.

2) i've never measured the booster before applying. HAIFU comes in a bottle and the lid has a brush on it. i just brush on the booster. i use the "eye test" to determine if its a thick layer or a thin layer.

ok, I got Hurricane 8 40 and Hurricane 3 Neo 38 Commercial. I really don't like fiddling with boosters - I already hated speed gluing because it was hard to get same result everytime and I have this feeling it is the same with boosters. I actually did want to boost H3N, just for the sake of it, to try it and see, but most reviews stated that H8 is meant to be more forgiving that H3N and possibly quite playable even without boosting - what is the actual thing here - should I boost them both?

I am already playing with H8 and actually like it - unboosted, in it's raw nature. but it is quite unforgiving. I have plenty of power at disposal, have great stroke technique (I played on high national/regional level until I was 23) but it kind of bites you when you try to improvise a bit (strawberry, side spin pushes, things like that) and of course when you are caught off guard - ESN rubbers come to help here, but Hurricane just says "nope, you are on your own!" 😂 which is kind of fun, finding the ways to return such balls but yes ... just currious ...

I am afraid that if I boost, I will then have same disadvantages I have with ESN - I would lose the linearity which is amazing with Hurricane, I would lose short game touch (ESN are springy here) and as I said - I like how it is not fast and puts me in charge how much speed and power will go into the shot ... would I lose this if I boost?

Like with any equipment change, you will have to get used to it. Only boost if you are chasing offensive potential from your rubber or if you want more potential available at lower effort. I will say that there is definitely an adjustment period switching from unboosted to boosted, it is like playing with a different rubber, and if you are not prepared to change the rubber more frequently you will also have to learn how to play with a rubber that has a dead boost effect.
