I am searching for a good composition for a 3+2 Blade, maybe i will contact Sergio to make me Dyneema/spectra Composition witj Hinoki top.
I already have2 Blades from him with Specta,
Altough there are sme Hinoki Blades with Arylate,,I am looking for fibers, etc to pair it with.
The old Hinoblades are mainly ALC ,i have a suspivion with Dyneea the flex wont be there but mainly the stiffness will go up.
I basically want an inner constructionwitg subtle reinforcments in the fiber, tat why i ws looking into the Sanwei Nova .
The only ZLC Hinoki Blade i was finding was the Stuor Nobilis.
Gl if you buy your Heterogenous, but i dont want an Asymetrical blade.
Gl finding Blade, i was mainly looking for an Upgrade ,cause the Kiso V from Bty is a lovely Blade but i finally found my rubbers.
So I play with A! on F and MK on bh,but need a blade with speed upgrade for a 5+2 with more stiffnessbut i want to get overboard in speed.
Gl Lodro.

This Stuor Nobilis Gold is definitely of interest to me and sounds a really interesting setup.

Without trying to hijack the thread... How does it play and are there any videos etc on it readily yo hand?

Cheers

Hi @Haraold

It's an interesting request. Most carbon-Hinoki blades tend to be off+, off++
The Nova is an interesting option in that it is a toned down Hinoki-carbon blade, although there is not much feedback out there on it yet.

I have played mostly carbon Hinoki blades over the last ten years. Last week I tried a Yasaka Ma Lin Soft Carbon for the first time. It had a similar soft, absorbent feeling to Hinoki without being too fast. Similar speed to my Joola Rossi Emotion (that has koto as its 2nd layer) but with better feedback and feeling in the hand. MLSC is more Hinoki-like but it has an Anigre outer layer. So while not fitting with your request, it might be worth consideration. I have ordered one and expect to arrive within 1-2 weeks.

Cheers, LLS

It is very nice to play but also very fast, and a little heavy. I had to pair it with a not so fast rubber, Yinhe Jupiter 3 38º. And I still do some too long shots if I'm not perfectly in shape.

I play the Bluestar A1 mx on Fh and Nybrid Mk max on bh on a BTY Kiso Hinoki V FROM bTY:
I am quite happy with the Setup, the Blae is definitely not Stiff and has some Flex, nothing out f the ordinary but it lacks a bit in he Power department.
I play those harder rubbers to tame the "Hinoki Tensor" Catapult from the Blade itself a bit,
and it works quite wlell for me.I also have 2 custom Blades from @hipnotic which are Spectra reinforced.
I think that this fiber is a bit to Stiff and "hard" as a veneer for a Hinoki Blade.
I looked in lesser or more woody fabrics and fibers like Glasscarbon,Diolen etc to just subtle reinforce the allwood Hinoki "Feeling" which is the crux and the blessing of that wood.
My Birthday is at the First of October and i think my Fam will get me a Blade as Present,so i did too much "brainy" thigs and did get into the rabbithole too much of Fibers etc.
I also looked int @waikibatty Sköllar, and Nico´s Nblades which was the option as he got A Block of Kiso Hinoki for a single play but i couldn´t pay that amount when he got the KIso.
All in All i made up some treads about Hinoki in general cause i like the wood but there are some downsides to Hinoki and Kiso especially.
Well loooong (jesus i wrote a pamphlet again)STory short,i just was looking for a new Verion of the 2010-20111116 3+2 or 5+2 Hinoblades or Darker 2 variants with ne Fibers for the 2024+ era lol.
Thx to all that contributed.
my dream would be a Barwell Fleet like Clone with a new fiber and a Hioki top maybe with 1.5 mm as to get the feel of the Hinoki, but if @hipnotic actually stumbles upon this thread he will get migraine from my absurd wishes ,lol, especially if i wanted the blade to also weigh less than 85g and with ANATOMIC!!!!!!! a.k.a Brontosaur Style handle.
Over and Out,The old from Harald

I’ve been using the JOOLA Nobilis for six years now, and this blade is truly amazing. Its thick Japanese hinoki top sheet is great at holding the ball; it’s not as aggressive as you might think, and the short game is surprisingly manageable, though slightly less precise than thinner blades. Forehand loops produce heavy spin and great speed, with a fast first bounce. Both forehand and backhand have excellent blocking power, and it’s fantastic for absorbing and countering powerful shots. It pairs really well with large-pore cake sponges. Definitely worth picking up and trying out.

Stuor Nobilis Gold is a great blade for the price. I played with it for about a year. The main reason I switched was that I had some trouble controlling BH blocks close to the table, but still tempted to get a lighter one.
It pairs well with slightly slower rubbers on the forehand. I tried Hurricane 8 39, Yasaka Rakza 7 Max, Bloom Power, DHS GA 9 38 max, and DHS GA 8 50 (med & max).
Only GA8 in max felt too fast, but 1.9 was really good, fast, spinny, and still controllable.

Haven't got this one but got a

Stuor Special Blade Two-sided Heterogeneous.

they are well made blades and you will be surprised at the quality, I was.
Have you had a chance to test it yet? How does it play?
I'm planing to switch to mid pips on BH next season, so I'm thinking of testing a combi blade

I would not bother. After playing with several "combi-blades" I dismissed them as a fad. I still play a DHS Hurricane G which is a great fast blade but really it is the different rubbers we have on both sides that makes 95 % of the difference .
