Homemade Cedar Blade

My background is woodworking and engineering and I'm thinking about trying to make 1 ply cedar blades as a redneck version of a 1 ply hinoki. I'm working on a looping style now and am pretty comfortable with looping topspin and underspin from both wings, so I might actually appreciate it. Does anyone have experience with cedar blades? Any opinion is appreciated!

With woodworking, it's often best to start with deconstructing a good sample. With some starting figures for weight and dimensions, you can generally make better decisions on what changes might improve the initial design.

Actually try it out with rubber that you are familiar with and see what you like or don't like with thickness, weight, and dimensions. Then you will know exactly what you want to do when you make your own.
