Many of the table tennis videos on youtube are edited, so they only have actual play.

What is the best/easiest/cheapest program to use making these videos (cutting out the non-playing part)?

I made the video with an i-phone and are using a windows computer.

You can use Quicktime Player to cut out (trim) the unwanted bits of footage; https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201066#trim.

Or you get/open up iMovie, Final Cut Pro. But Quicktime Player is just there, ready to go.

Sorry for raising this thread from the dead, but I recently came across the challenge, long video I wanted to get just the "ball on the table" time from. I solved it with a small tool I built, free for all to use, that allows editing out the "fluff". It's far from perfect, but it get's the job done 90% of the time: https://github.com/AvnerCohen/tt-zip

Obviously, it requires local setup (python etc), if there is interest, I can look at making this available via more simpler forms as an online tool.
