Shouldn't the proper advice here be:
If you're a beginner, play with normal rubbers first, for at least a couple of years?
The chopping style only makes sense once you've reached a fairly high level because even at the intermediate level (meaning a level where you can consistently loop about 5 shots in a row in practice and aren't completely bamboozled by serves) you will not get into any rallies as a chopper. People will just serve long into your pips and smash the next ball past you.
