Look like top hinoki layers are not with even thickness.

You are correct, but the one i received is the same thickness on both sides. I actually would not have minded if my blade would have come as in the photo because we use different rubbers for BH and FH anyway and it would have given me a reason to experiment by swapping the rubbers around a bit. 😁
