Is putting a towel and paper on my rubber a good alternative for silica gel when putting it on my 3rd party racket case?

I wouldn't think so. Desiccant packets are literally designed to absorb and also hold moisture within itself, which is why you see it used so widely especially in food and material packaging. Whereas paper and towels are also function to absorb moisture but they also do not retain moisture as as silica gel, especially in a more enclosed environment like a racket case that is designed to be closed, once the paper or towel absorbs moisture, where is it supposed to go?

towels and paper can get moist too, so not good idea
