Is there a comprehensive review of Stiga Mantra Pro M?

I tried H and M for backhand a year ago.
Although it doesn't feel like a fast rubber, it is.
It is quite grippy but not in the range of Dignics or I.m.o DNA pro & Platinum.
It produces good spin, combined that with the low arc makes it a much better forehand rubber.

For backhand I felt topspins dropped too quickly into the net and I had to worry about the arc too much.

I like DNA pro & platinum on backhand, much higher arc for more safety. While I prefer Dignics 09c on forehand I could for sure use Mantra pro H & XH.

Still good rubber for the price, on sale it goes under €30🤯

thanks for your impressions. doesnt sound bad to be honest. I just ordered a sheet of Mantra Pro H from ali for 27€, just couldnt resist at that price point

I will try it out on my backhand. BH is my more stable side and I usually spin right of the bounce / in the rising phase of the ball, so lets see whether or not the low arc will bother me

Have you posted a review somewhere?
I im interested in the Mantra Pro H as a BH rubber, mainly because its very cheap to get on ali
I haven't posted the review cuz TTD hasn't approved it as a review item yet :( @Dan

I used Mantra Pro H and XH (tried both on forehand and backhand), naturally the XH felt harder and faster but H wasn't slow. I'd give them both 5 stars and think they're generally worth it especially if you can get them on sale. I think they play like heavily boosted Chinese rubbers -- springy but with good grip and low throw angle. Amazing control, too. If you like the feeling of heavily boosted H3 but get tired of replacing it every month then Mantra is a good substitute.

If you're used to a high throw angle on backhand then Mantra will definitely take some time to get used to.

Thanks for the reply
care to post the review here ? I'd be interested in your impressions, especially of mantra pro h as a BH rubber.

to be honest, there arent too many reviews out there about the mantra pro series. I never paid attention to them because they were pricey (around 50€), and there are other rubbers in that price category that I already like, e.g. omega 7 pro, omega 7 asia, evolution mx-s

if I understand correctly, mantra pro is the successor of a very popular rubber series, stiga mantra. I read some short reviews, and people say that it is similar to hammond z2 or etika (both made at Daiki factory), which of course makes sense. hammond z2 and etika have very good reviews in general.

It then surprises me that these rubbers are available for 30€ or even less. How come that the mantra pro series is that much cheaper in China if the performance is still up there? Mantra Pro is a quite recent rubber series and while not being Stiga's highest end product, its still in the higher end price category I'd say (at least in Europe).

I guess what I am trying to say is that at that price, it almost doesnt matter anymore if the arc is a bit low or the spin is 10% less or whatever, the value is probably very good. @greenbeanmachine you already helped me out alot in my penhold thread, I am still waiting for my yinhe pro 05 und will probably put the mantra pro h on the BH

cheers!

I tried the Hammond Z2 (FH) in my Victas KojiM def blade and liked it very much. A lot of control, fast, grippy, spiny, not huge catapult (very linear speed, not like the newest ESN rubbers) and excellent FH block, pushes, spin, top spin and heavy top spin on heavy underspin pushes. BUT I was looking for something less fast. Then I found the Mantra Pro M, I use it in 2.0mm. Is very very similar to HammondZ2 but with the softer sponge becomes a bit slower so I can also chop FH very well, Z2 wasn't very good at it as it was faster.

So now I have the Mantra Pro M in my in both my Victas Koji Matsushita and Goriki blades and i just love it. The fact that I can find it very cheap is a big plus, as I afford to change it to new every few months as it has half the price of an modern ESN. I am also thinking sometime to try the 1.8mm version of Mantra Pro M, it should be like a king of FH chop.
