Obviously Mima Ito will be disappointed with not being selected. This news segment interviews a few people from her hometown being disappointed. They show the TT table donated by Mima to her elementary school. The officials seem to indicate that being a good doubles player is the biggest key for choosing Harimoto over Mima...but then Mima has Olympic gold medal in the XD. I think they didn't want to admit it, but deep down they just feel that the momentum is on the side of Miwa.
On the flip side, the Harimoto hometown is very happy to see their own player being selected.
