Don't want to be "Italian fan" at any cost, but it seems fair to mention Gaia Monfardini performance:
- great win against Doo Hoi Kem (not in best shape to be honest, but a dangerous player anyway) in R64
- intense match against Shin Yubin in R32, well played for 4 sets with a bit of lucky shots from Shin in crucial moments.
Hope she can have more experience in WTT big events to maintain that level

Totally agree on Hugo as a winner.
An Jaehyun and Simon Gauzy: highlight machines :)

Imo Anna is probably a higher level than Amy and she is still only 18
she had quite a few good WTT, WTT Youth, ETTU U21 and Bundesliga (ranked 4th) wins.
Probably half burnt with the amount of matches and traveling leading to Doha.

It will be difficult for Anna to be ranked high in Europe, and many of her tours are still youth. Need to fully move over the seniors to get better ranking points. But already good wins against pretty strong opponents.
Anna shouldn't worry about 2025 WTTC, she still has her best years ahead and she should take this loss in and learn
She might be better, I wouldn't want to say for sure, my point is that I don't think Anna is so much better that losing to Amy would be considered a big upset or unexpected in any way

Men
...
Winner: Maharu Yoshimura
The inclusion of him and Matsudaira in Japans squad left many raising their eyebrows, particularly when considering Sora and Yukiya Uda were left behind. Safe to say Yoshimura in particular silences most of his critics with a respectable singles run, losing to Kallberg in R32 and most incredibly eliminating Lin/Kuai in the mixed doubles and going all the way to a silver medal with Satsuki Odo. Truly a great championships for big brother Maharu
...
Not only beat the WR#1 pair of LSD/KM, but also the Olympic silver medal and ever elusive N. Korean pair of Ri/Kim and solid veteran, WR#4 pair of Wong/Doo.

Also, I would as for Winner: Hiroto Shinozuka obviously for winning the gold with Togami, but also beating CNT member, Xue Fei.

Winners: Florian Bourrassaud and Esteban Dorr for winning a bronze medal in men’s doubles !
Losers: Florian Bourrassaud and Esteban Dorr for forfeiting a WTTC semifinal in the most ridiculous manner. Dorr tore his knee while celebrating at the end of their QF win…

You can put the Bros. in the same categories
- winners cos' they're still WR 1 (phew ! t'was close !!)
- losers cos'... Alexis ridiculous manner to show how angry he was to be beaten by his brother at the french nationals.

BUT ! the day after you get Coach Molin on FFTT's Youtube channel claiming everything was fine, with that paradox "hey do you see what we've achieved with injuries ?" followed by "in a sport where there are not so much injuries ?"

The most stupid France's team ever. They're lucky that the Bros. have kept their WR 1 in doubles and lost only 1 place in the singles rankings.

The clear winner for France has been Simon, by far !!! the guy has played feeders and lost money to be there and won back 8 places in the WR. He has shown the world why he deserves the showman/magician award. And he's probably the only one left with Truls, Alexis and Hugo. Those are the guys that make kids want to play table tennis all over the world.

Alexis was injured before the event so I didn’t count him or his doubles

Felix lost early to An Jaehyun. To be honest I wasn’t expecting that at all. So much that I didn’t even watch this match. I didn’t even see the replay. I don’t know if Felix lost or just An was in a great day and there was little to do anyway…

It must hurt a lot for Felix, I hope he will learn from it and do great next time

I agree with @ThePongCommenter , saying someone who has beaten Bruna a. nd Adriana and who regularly beats Lily is clearly worse than Anna is a bit much.

NO ! that's not a proper excuse man ! he injured himself in the most stupid manner possible just 2 months prior one of the 3 Grand Slam events ! You have to count him in that Esté/Flo paradox too ! Why do you think footballers ain't allowed to go skiing in winters ? Why do you think Sebastien Loeb was not allowed to do motorcycle or trials motorcycle when he was a pro WRC racing driver ? the real/true pros know they have to restrain themselves from doing XYZ things that can down their performances.
