modify handle

Have you ever modified the handle for your grip?
I have a flared handle but don't like it how the little finger goes around. It feels like the little finger is compressed
so I took a plane and planed the handle straight on one side and I actually like it.

you're watching the BH side, you get the idea.
This is a blade I don't use... I think I want to do this to the Sanwei I play with.

as a penhold users - I always have to modify the handle for my grip (but it is different than your example).
I do think it is a good idea.
Just becareful not too trim too much off, as most handles are hollow inside
