My Butterfly Dignics 09C Review: Why I think that most amateur players should avoid it

@victormanriquey The weird thing is that I played with D09C on some of the blades and I am not sure that the throw angle is really high. As I said in other threads I do not quite feel the angle very well, but I remember that Joola Inferno, Rakza 7 and 9 or Zyre technique very much, D09C did not. But I remember going through the sponge reliably, it felt a bit soft in fact. Hmm... I mostly agreed with your judgements but on this thing my feelings are a bit different, maybe I need to test it for longer or something.

Does that mean G09c is a good alternative? I personally think it's not quite that. G09c plays inconsistently. The topsheet tension experience is much lower (fine), but when you hit the sponge threshold, there's a noticeable dead zone, where you get the feeling of sinking into the sponge, but no extra spin or speed as a result. In fact, the sponge at that point feels like it's absorbing the force. (Weirdly, vanilla Glayzer does not suffer from the same effect, at all)
I'm pretty sure this is why Chinese sponges are typically hard enough not to bottom fully on rallying strokes. Otherwise you literally run out of sponge too soon on anything stronger. You'll get more spin and speed hitting harder, but it's not efficient.

I measured D80 as 46 Shore O, so G09c is probably 48 give or take some. That'd definitely feel too soft on a Chinese rubber. However it's probably stiffer than the number suggests due to progression. FWIW D09c felt too soft for me on forehand.

In fact the G09c sponge may well be softer than the Dignics sponge in high impact shots, because we don't know its real performance curve. Even if the number when measured is higher, it can still lack progression past that deflection, to make it easier to play for some kind of player.

Soft sponge fanatics will say you need to fully bottom the sponge on every shot of course, so there's different strategies.

Why the normal Glayzer doesn't feel like that is beyond me but the sponges might be a lot more different than just 4deg hardness.

Yeah experiences can differ that's always the case, so many things affect that :) And it's fine to disagree on things, we cannot always agree on all, would be so boring ;) I think though, since you are used to H3N and the likes, D09c doesnt feel too different, only the throw, high end catapult and price, mostly those with some other little details.

Yep and normal Glayzer and G09c also feel and play very different.
