I am interested in the Neottec Amagi HC; it looks like it has a competitive price for a 3+2 blade with 1 mm Kiso Hinoki ply on the outers layers, moreover it is very light (73 gr) and this fact would allow to use any kind of very heavy rubbers that cannot be glued on the others 84 - 90 gr blades that I have.
Firstly I would be happy to hear any feedback from someone that used this blade.
Moreover I wonder if there is anyone that knows which is the wood used for the core, because it seems to me that a blade 6.7 mm thick with 2 layers of carbon fibre, even with a light Kiri core should be heavier that 73 gr; perhaps the core is Balsa?

Very heavy rubbers on a light blade would make the racket very top heavy. The balance is more noticeable than the actual weight within resonable limits.

I believe Neottecs have smaller heads, that’s one reason why they are lighter…

Do you know the head size?
Is it really a very light weight blade?
Do you have the feeling of head heavy or being small head size and having the handle thicker, the balance is neutral.
- It's a bit smaller than normal size (157x150), i changed rubbers on it many times. google say 154x149.
- yeah, it's very light.
- not feel head heavy at all.
- It's very good blade if u don't mind smaller head. My problem is just got some blisters from using.

Thanks for all the explanations.
Any clue if the core of the Amagi HC is Kiri or Balsa?
Do you have straight or flared handle?

If you press a little on the core, if it is balsa it will deform very easy, also the feeling is like hallow, and dampening.

I have played with the Amagi for some time. I don’t anymore but it is very decent especially given the price.

My memory says it’s even smaller, like 154x146 and therefore light. That has it’s pros (faster headspeed, easier to switch fh/bh) but off course cons as well.

I’m pretty sure it has a Kiri core, not that I’m an expert but I discussed this with a known blade maker who thought kiri rather than the other usual suspects. Given that it’s carbon, not your ac/alc variety, it’s a bit harder and stiffer than expected. My impression is that this feeling is enhanced by the smaller headsize as well.
