Well, this is a rather "soft" hybrid. It feels more tensorish than for example the G1 IMO, but less than a proper tensor. I think the harder hybrids are closer to the description you mention. I think nuzn is much faster than the previous hybrids from what I can recollect in the forum. I find the short game with G1 way easier.
But G1 is 5° harder, so I meant relative to their hardness.

But to illustrate what I mean: I feel that the MK-Fx (45°) is way easier in the short game than both the softer Vega Euro (42.5°) as well as the harder Vega X (47.5°).

Btw., I never heard the G1 described as hybrid in any sense, thought it was classified as tensor.

Bear in mind that I have not tested this extensively, that I am new to hybrids and overall an intermediate returning player, so I am only describing my impressions from a single session.

The total weight of my racket is now 174.3 g; with the blade contributing 88 g and the edge tape 1.5 g, this means the rubbers clock in at an average of 42.4 g each.

Stickiness: Not at all, perhaps even a tad less grippy than Tibhar H MK–FX.
Bounciness: Also a bit more like a normal tensor than MK–FX.

In general, the topsheet feels pretty tense, possibly because it is brand new. It feels like it grips like Vega X, which I played before, but with the control of Vega Euro. At the same time, it clearly has some hybrid characteristics, being a bit less bouncy in the short game, then gearing up when hitting hard. Nevertheless, this effect is less pronounced than with MK–FX. I switched sides to see which worked best on which wing, and found myself twiddling occasionally. Looking at the photos below, I assume the Tibhar is 2.0 mm, i.e. thinner.

Looping felt a smidgen easier with MK–FX, though I’m not sure whether this is simply due to familiarity.

Serving felt very good and controlled. For very short, spinny serves, I found myself twiddling to MK–FX; for faster: Nuzn 45.

Short game, same as serves. Also felt confident doing risky placements, short and long.

Trying for 90 minutes against a defensive chopper, and he commented that my loops were now spinnier and my placements more dangerous (also, he taught me som chopping skills …).

Overall, though, I am very satisfied. I think it is exactly the right level of control for my game. Being fairly close to MK–FX has two advantages: it allows me to adapt and understand the setup more quickly, and it also lets me experiment with twiddling without it having too much impact. Of everything I have tried so far (including loaners: DHS 729, Vega Euro, Vega Euro H, Omega VII Euro, Tibhar FX-S, Butterfly Roundell, Vega X), these two rubbers are the best for me right now, and I don’t expect to change them for a long time — which doesn’t mean I’ll stop reading about this fascinating area (looking at you, V>15 Sticky Soft …).

Playing again tonight and tomorrow, so if you have any questions or things I should think about, feel free.

Forgive me for photo-bombing a bit here:

If I understand You correctly.
Tibhar Hybrid MK FX is both a little faster and a little spinnier than Nuzn 45?
Nuzn 45 has a little more control than MK FX?

Did You feel that any of them had a tendency to hit longer than the other?

Cheers

Hm, rather:
  • MK FX is spinnier, yes. [correction: I meant grippier. Whether I can generate same amount of spin, I cannot say for sure, since this is probably impeded by my lack of proper technique and power). But for me, right now: a bit easier to generate spin, also in serves.]
In short game/low energy input, MK FX it is slower, whereas Nuzn 45 is somewhat bouncier (unless it is just newer, and the top sheet tighter, but I can only give my impression).
  • With medium power input, like in short game: same impression Nuzn 45 a bit more tensor-like.
  • What the maximum speeds are, I cannot say, but they behaved pretty similar to me when I tried smashing and looping hard.
In defensive positions, I think I felt that I had to be more carful with adding some power to the MK FX, instead of just passively returning the ball. Will take care to observe this tonight.

OK, thanks.
MK FX is currently my favorite BH rubber.
But its a bit expensive, I am currently using 729 Dragon F which is a bit slow. I am waiting for TT11 to have a weekly sale for MK FX and meanwhile I am trying out other options. Just got a couple of Nuzn 45 sheets so I will test them myself but it will be on a different blade... I am also interested in the characteristics of Xiom Europe Hybrid...

Post on here if you see MK FX on sale at TT11 as I like to try too :-D

Have you tried K3 fx - is that much harder?

Maybe it’s common knowledge, but for me it always helps the nerves to make a table. Here the stated hardnesses of some of the rubbers that were mentioned in this thread [and that poke my interest]:

Your experiences will interest me highly as well, you being a more experienced player (and EJ …?).

I have the Euro H on my third blade – a Smirnov Ultra [Inner] Carbon – that is of similar speed to the HAL, so if I have time to try it out and compare, I’ll let you know. It’s 1.8 mm though.

Is your setup with Nuzn 45, 2.1 and the Tibhar MK FX 2.0 realy only 174.3 gram with the blade weight 88g? Do you know how much only the Nuzn 45 rubber cut weight is?

How you like the Nuzn 45? And do you play it on BH ? How is it with passive blocks away from table? Do you have to put moore effort in it then with a normal Tensor lika Omega Pro?

Did not try it yet. Yes it’s supposed to go on BH. Passive block from behind are just emergency shots but I assume they will be slower…

Nuzn 45 is supposed to be an alternative för tibhar hybrid MK FX which is my current favorite… I am also looking at Xiom Europe H but now I am stuck with 729 Dragon F and it’s a bit slowish but when I change the rubber is spent…

Ok, I think I will try it soon. Have the V11 Extra now because of weight. But the topsheet loks like shit after 50 days. So want to try something new and a little bit softer with good grip. Also looked at the Sticky Soft from Victas but Nuzn 45 seems to have better wuality and also better price (in sweden)

Correct, including 1.5 g for the edge tape

Nope, it was glued in the store. From the feel and balance, Tibhar and Nuzn are roughly the same weight.

Not yet, probably by the end of the season when Dragon F expires...
It's still in the package so I cant tell the weight, guess it should be lighter than 48 though...

To come back to the initial topic

Trying this new setup:
Andro Treiber Ci off
Andro Nuzn 50
Andro Nuzn 48

Coming from a Fastarc C-1 (on a Viscaria Super Alc), after 2x 2hour training sessions, Nuzn 48 feels considerably harder. Great feeling in both active and passive blocking after I got used to the higher arc. More difficult to engage than C-1 but very rewarding when I managed to hit through the sponge. Good dip of the ball when using more wrist.

BTW played for years with G-1 on BH. Nuzn 48 feels harder and stickier. More catapult, less linear... as expected.
