I recently ordered the Asics Gel-Blade 8 (new model). I can't give you a full opinion yet, but these are the shoes that promise the best compromise between performance and absorption, thanks in particular to the gel.

In Japan, this model is sold in the "Table tennis" category under a slightly different name. So they are still designed for that, even if in Europe they are presented as badminton and indoor sports shoes. If you wish, I could give you more details in a few days.

In my country, TT plays second fiddle to badminton. Walk into any general sports store and there will be racks and racks of badminton shoes, but zero TT specific shoe. If you ask for TT shoe from the sales assistance, you will be sure to be led to the badminton shoe aisle all the time. And should you ask the sales person for TT specific shoe, you will get a baffled look because they will equate badminton shoe = indoor racquet game shoe.
