Hi! I’ve been playing table tennis for the past 2 months. My first racket is a Yinhe Y4 with DHS H3 Neo on the forehand and Yinhe Moon Pro Soft on the backhand. Playing with Chinese rubbers has been quite challenging as an amateur, so I’m looking for new non-Chinese rubbers that would be good for amateurs. Any suggestions? Feel free to let me know.

very cheap: Palio Ak47 Blue or Yellow (Red are quite fast) They are Chinese but play as Euro/Jap
Good and cheap: Nittaku FActive, Xiom Musa, Victas Ventus Regular/TR/Limber (german tensors, but not very fast or "springy")
Good and faster than above and a bit more expensive: Rakza7, Andro Hexer Grip/PowerGrip, Barracuda, Nittaku G1 / C1

Vega Europe is great for that, light too
Vega Europe's contemporary should be Donic Bluefire M3, Rakza 7 soft, Tenergy 05fx et al.

It honestly depend on what you're looking for. What's been challenging about these rubbers?
If you just jump into all these suggested rubbers, you'll decimate your short game.

Try and be specific about what you're not enjoying about your setup and also what you're hoping new equipment can do.

There's a world of difference of what a coach can do for your game before you change other stuff.

The Hurricane 3 (40 deg) is too hard to control for me, im looking for a newbie-friendly fh rubber for my Yinhe Y4 blade, for my bh rubber i think its already matched my playstyle so the only thing i did not enjoy is the h3 rubber for my fh. My playstyle is quite balanced, fh for fast paced shot like smashing, looping and bh for chopping, blocking and serve.

I see. If you find H3 hard to control at 40 degrees, you're probably not penetrating the sponge on most shots. From the recommended stuff, I'd pick the barracuda. Much easier to access sponge compression and isn't too bad in most other areas. It's a classic for sure.

Barracuda is not the best option, especially for smashing. It is spin-oriented, on the "soft" side and blocking is difficult when incoming ball is full of spin, it is very spin sensitive. AK47Yellow, FActive, Andro Hexer PowerGrip, Xiom Vega Europe and Nittaku (1.8mm or 2.0mm, not max as it is quite fast in max), would be better options. (order by ~price~)

Have you tried turning the blade? How does the Moon soft feels on VH. Going from H40 to Vega Europe and alike sounds like a far stretch to me.

Yes, it feels okay, the shot are significantly slower but easy to control. the dhs on the bh feels so bad i can’t even control all of my shots
