How'd that rubber work for you?
Let me show some pictures first:
Gewo Codexx Pro 53 Superselect - Busta.jpg
Gewo Codexx Pro 53 Superselect montata su Xiom 36.5 ALX.jpg

The rubber is slightly sticky as per the new generation ESN hybrids: ZGX, C53, A1 and so on. I have them all so I know what I'm talking about.
It is light for a 53 degrees hybrid, weighting 69,8gr uncut.
I played it 1 hour against a very good modern defender. It felt hard at touch on every kind of shot, I wasn't able to spin the ball as I do with my ZGX. Compared to ZGX I felt I lacked grip (hook-up). My FH topspin-drives were slower, I lacked the speed I'm used to. Probably that could depend from the break-in period, maybe the rubber needs it. Or probably I'm not able to exploit this rubber given its hardness. Since I had good results vs my opponent despite I didn't like the quality of my shots, I'm going to leave it on my bat and continue to test it from time to time cause it ticks some boxes like: lightweight and cheaper than ZGX.
For the rest of the season I'll stick with my ZGX which is an awesome rubber despite its poor durability.

Thanks for the update, you're the 2nd person I've heard make the ZGX comparison. I may try it anyway, because the light weight is nice. I'm pissed off with all my h3's lack of tack n might try hybrids. I was gonna do 09c but considering other options as well.

You're welcome, yes please try it and report it here. I've tried recently latest H3 neo prov 39 (slightly tacky too) and didn't like it. D09C is on my radar too, with its supposed better durability could be an alternative to ZGX, I'll try it somewhere in the next future.

that's a nice smooth glue job.. and the sharp edge of the rubber.. well done!

That is a very smooth cut! Good job! You mentioned about using the press, I was wondering why do folks use the press? I have never used it before (although I'm still fairly new to tt) and I'm wondering if I should get one or no.

I am doing some rubber ej. Have become enamored of Koharu Itagaki's play style and found a used sheet of Bty Impartial XB to test on backhand. At the same time ordered a sheet of my usual Moristo in 1.4 instead of 1.8. Figured the thinner sponge might accomplish the same consistency increase I hoped for from Impartial, and with less adjustment.

On forehand I ordered a sheet of T19. Have been using T05 again for a while, and I love it, like always and forever. Curious if I will notice any difference with 19. Doubtful. In a blind test I probably wouldn't notice anything between 05 and 80, so 19 would have to be more different to register. But wtf, ejing isn't really about making a difference.

This is pretty cool!
it's a kind of ocd thing :).
I made wooden edges on the sides of the plate of 7.5 mm. Most paddles are 6 mm thick and rubbers are 2 mm. Together, that's 8 mm. So, this press will not be able to compress the rubber more than 0.5 mm, even though you see the strong clamps on it.
for the second rubber I add 2mm strips of wood.

Thanks (y) I use it because it makes the adhesion stronger so if i accidentally hit the table when pushing fh/bh the rubbers don't separate from the edge (with good probability). Anyway there are thousands of variables and there's no strict need to do it.
