I am testing an Acoustic with the newest SG handle (FL). I really like this handle and the blade. Coming from Samsonov Force Pro Special Edition (SFPSE, a light clipper analog), I would say that Acoustic is a more versatile blade. What I have noticed is that the rubbers that did not quite work for me on SFPSE, work much better on Acoustic. Currently, I am using T80/R48 (FH/BH). These also suited well for me on SFPSE.

Tenergy 19 in 1.7 and Fastarc G1 in 1.4 are rubbers suitable for beginners?

In 1995 maybe but actually... I find it better to choose a slower, less dynamic and easier to use rubber with a decent thickness (2mm or more) rather than trying to tie up a too fast rubber by choosing a ridiculously thin thickness.
Rozena is actually THE rubber for begginer / intermediate player by Butterfly and Fastarc C1 is little bit easier to play than G1.
Exemple good setup :
- Forehand : Fastarc C1 2mm
- Backhand : Rozena 2mm

Imagine you are grazing the ball but the ball does not sink too much into the sponge. You are contacting the ball with a closed racket angle like maybe even a degrees then swing it forward. Start with a contact that does not have much sound. Hitting through the sponge will have a louder sound.

You want to try to brush the ball with a thin contact like you would with the tip of a brush. Think of the topsheet at the tip of your brush, you only want to use the topsheet and a bit of the sponge, not penetrate the sponge too much and hit the blade.

You also want to pay attention to where you hit the ball, for topspin to topspin, you hit at least a bit of the top of the ball going forward. If you're topspinning/lifting backspin, more of the back of the ball with a bit of the top of the ball, going up.

Finally, if you're right handed, the contact on the paddle for a topspin is on the 1/4 that's top left, and you want to keep the ball in your rubber as long as possible but sliding it thinly toward the center, not by having it sink deeper into the sponge so that it hits the blade (that last part is what you want for a drive, hit or smash, not a topspin).

For serves, if you're right handed, the contact on the paddle is on the very top right at the tip, then you brush with the wrist.

NECROMANCY!

Reviving this thread to ask a bit about H3N. I've been playing with G1 on both sides of an Acoustic for the past few months (w/o any proper training) and have really come to like it. Esp in the short game, but at times I feel it may be too fast with a full swing so I usually feel like Im holding myself back.

Ofc training with a coach over time would address this issue, but until then I purchased H3N Prov 39 OS to test on fh unboosted. From what I've read so far H3 requires full body swings and brushing, but I just wanted to know if there's any other tips for technique to practice or any other training vids that might be helpful? I did also purchase Seamoon to boost it after I get used to it for the first couple months.

I think the best play would be to keep what you have and put the money towards a coach, otherwise you could develop bad habits that take forever to iron out later or, at worst, a messed up swing that could eventually lead to injury, esp. if your older....That's probably not what you want to hear, because it's fun to test equipment, but the value of proper guidance can't be overstated. Remember, a strong player can smoke a lot of people w/ an Acoustic and G1.

I definitely agree. I just joined a couple over the weekend so hopefully I can start getting lessons if they’re available. Until then I may try to see what works better on my fh between the 2.
