Tenergy 05 Catapult on Timo Boll ALC

Hello, I have been playing for three weeks with a Timo Boll ALC using Tenergy 05 and Tenergy 19. At first, I was very satisfied with the setup, and it was very easy to open against backspin with a lot of spin. However, after three weeks, the Tenergy 05 has developed more catapult effect than before, and it has become quite uncontrollable.





Would a Dignics 80 be better suited for the Timo Boll ALC while still allowing me to open against backspin just as easily? The only thing that bothers me about the Tenergy 05 is the increased catapult effect after three weeks.

If you dont seem to have this problem with the 19, then just get the 19 on both sides.

That's 05 alright.
Yes D80 is much easier to play in this regard but hard to know if it's the answer to your problem unless you try it yourself.
That's the challenge of T05, it needs insane touch to play short game with it.
However if it's loops, drives etc you find challenging for now you may find that you get used to it.
Do you use the 05 on FH or BH.
How much more controlled is the T19?
And how do you fare when you flip the racket?

You can try Glayzer 09c. It is good against backspin and not catapulty as Tenergy 05, unless you swing with physical effort.

T19 is too soft on the forehand.
I will try D80 on the forehand

You could just go to a thinner sponge on the T05 until you develop the feel you need for the short game?

The D80 is a very different rubber from the T05. slight tacky, harder etc so you will have an adaptation period.

You are going from two rubbers that generate spin, lift etc very easily to a rubber that will ask more of you.
