Hello ~ This backhand rubber discussion is endless I guess, but I would like to ask something very specific and narrow down some good options.

I would like to find a rubber that is slightly faster than C1, maybe a bit more catapult effect, with relatively high arc but not harder than ~ 47.5

Something that has good grip to start looping the back spin push (I loop everything that goes out of the table, not flick, just loop) but then something that has enough power for the follow up shot - C1 seems too slow / soft now to finish the point. I have to say that I tried G1 and Vega pro and didn't like them although I like both on FH.. G1 is too linear and somehow hardish and VP seemed also bit hard and not so grippy (although it was heavily used, but I think I got the feel)

After hours of reading and searching I found these
Joola Tronix ACC
Omega 7 - 8 Euro
Vega X
Rakza Z (too slow?)
Goldarc 8
Tenergy 05 (prob much faster than the rest??)

**The key is to be faster than C1 with a high arc.. otherwise C1 is pretty good

If someone has good info about this I would love to hear it. Thanks!

I play with Omega 8 Euro right now. It's a good backhand rubber. It has perhaps more catapult than C1, but less than Tenergy/Rozena. Feels harder than Rozena despite being essentially the same sponge hardness. It feels very similar to Andro Rasanter R45.

  • Rakza Z is harder than your preferred 47.5° and has basically no catapult. I'd rule that out based on your stated criteria.
  • Goldarc 8 (the 47.5° version) is very similar to G1 in my experience.
  • Tenergy 05 has way more catapult and top-end speed than the others. It has excellent grip and spin generation, but much less inherent control.
I don't have experience with the Joola or Vega X, but if Vega Pro wasn't a good fit I'd expect Vega X isn't, either.

Another one to consider that I think meets all your criteria is Rakza 7. It's 47.5° but doesn't have the hard topsheet that G1 does; it has similar or a bit more catapult than C1; it's very grippy; and the arc is medium to medium-high. It's also reasonably-priced. I'd start there and if you find yourself wanting more easy speed, try Rasanter R45 or Omega 8 Euro.

This is the first time I hear someone reject a rubber because it is too linear. The G1 is about as close to your theoretical requirements as anything out there and it is officially a medium hard 47.5 degree ESN rubber and is it a sibling to the C1 rubber. Go ahead and try out the Tenergy 05 if someone in your club has it. I suspect you will find a more satisfaction if you tried the G1 on your backhand with a different blade, something with a softer top veneer and more forgiving flexibility. Have you considered going with an inner ALC blade with a limba top and a larger head size? Maybe a rare and wonderful Hinoki blade will be the thing that will make your backhand feel just right.

What you are looking for makes no sense.

You say c1 is slow and you want something faster which is G1 but that rubber is too hard for you?

Well guess what if you want something faster than you have to go harder rubbers. And G1 would be the next step and not a t05 and whatever else you suggested.

Either work on your technique or get accustomed to a harder rubber.. best do both..

Rakza 7 suits everything you're asking for. It feels softer than G1 because it has a softer topsheet and overall is just slightly less of everything, but more pop than C1.

Glayzer could be another option
