Thinking of changing my blade and rubbers.

I am thinking of changing from my Viscaria to a hurricane long 5x. On backhand, I want to go for a D05 or 09c, which one should I get?
Also, my forehand is a Hurricane 3 Neo National Blue sponge. This one I will stick to the H5X.
Which one do you think I should use on the backhand side?
Also open to seeing blade alternatives to H5x. Need a bit more speed than Viscaria gives me.

It's weird that you think viscaria doesn't give you enough speed. Also i think the long 5x should be a bit slower than viscaria anyways. I have a sneaking suspicion that you don't have to change your equipment but just keep playing and improve your technique. As for d05 vs d09c for your bh, it comes down to personal preference, both are great bh rubbers. With 09c you have to have good technique with every stroke as it's harder but the ceiling of the rubber is higher. D05 is faster with bit more catapult but not as grippy as d09c. But ultimately my advice to you is: don't change your blade, play the sport and improve your skills and you will see that the blade has everything that you would want.

The Vis is plenty fast. I need something a bit faster in touch play. No complaints from it otherwise. Currently looking using Rakza 7 on BH and Hurricane 3 neo national BS (as mentioned). I love the R7, but it's way too safe for me.

The H5X I mentioned because Gemini and Chat GPT recommended me that for my playing style (chops, Bh and fh topspins, flicks and drives. I dont smash usually but that is more to do with where I'm playing.)

Edit: I should explain better- I used the Stag Iconic beatronics barrage series chain before I got the viscaria and it was def faster in touch play. The Viscaria was faster in topspins, and flicks and smashes. This is what I mean when I say a bit faster on passive shots and touch play where the Viscaria is fast, but I want something faster if possible.

Long 5X will be slower than Vis. The natural way for you to get faster is Viscaria Super ALC with H3 Neo Blue Sponge FH and Dignics 09c BH. This will be a great setup
Im gonna have to save up for a looooooong time for that one. Im in India. This stuff is incredibly expensive. but I think I can manage it because I am changing my gear next year in September.

Something faster in touch play. Can you explain what this means?
Also, how do you think it's possible to go from a Rakza 7 to a Dignics 09c on the backhand?
There are pros who find 09c too hard for BH, personally I don't understand how any amateur player anywhere can consider D09c a realistic BH choice.

No offence intended here but it seems as if you are looking for equipment to magically make your shots faster and hoping that they won't lose quality or consistency.
But maybe I'm wrong. What level of player are you?

I've been playing for 21 years approx. I'm an intermediate/upper intermediate jack of all trades kinda player. For the past year or so, I have been experimenting with rubbers (I've used Loki arthur china, G1, Rasanter R48, Peter Karlsson Gen II Max hard.) I wanted to change my blade next year and switch to d09c/d05 or mx-d on my bh.

For the touch play comment Idk how to explain it exactly, but sometimes playing close to the table, I tend to tap the ball with no force, letting the speed of the rubber do its own thing. With my current setup, the rakza 7 is very, very safe when I do that, so the ball lands mid-table, and with H3n Nbs it will land very close to the net.

I should mention- The only reason I have Rakza 7 on my bh is because I was curious about it.

Did you like any of these rubbers you tried?
What were you using before, was it the Rakza 9 and H3 in your profile?
Have you tried the Dignics rubbers already?

Isn't close to the net good in this instance? If you want it further over the net you can adjust to add a bit more. It's a typical adjustment to make with harder/slower rubbers like H3 or D09c.
For most people I think it's preferable to have this very short touch possibility be easy. It is harder (but not impossible) to play very short with Rakza 7 but more people find it more difficult to dampen a springy rubber with their touch than to add a bit of force to a hard rubber.
I am generalising of course but I expect you'll get used to the hard rubbers easily enough given a bit of time.

Going back to Dignics. If you play R7 on BH now I really don't recommend even trying D09c on it. It is VERY hard. 44 degrees v 40 for D05.
D05 maybe a realistic choice but it is fast and unforgiving of poor timing or lazy technique but lethal when used well so if your level allows it why not!

I use 80 and find it very good and despite the numbers Butterfly have for it V the D05 I find it lot easier to use. It just feels more predictable in most scenarios and less demanding than the D05. 🤷‍♂️
However I'm considering Glayzer as my next BH rubber to see if something softer makes things a little 'easier'.

About the blade I can't offer much.
If you are changing for the sake of it or just because curious then fair enough, go for it but Viscaria is obviously an excellent blade.
If you want a blade more forgiving or easier to control then I wouldn't expect Long 5 to be it. If you want a faster blade then maybe but there are folk in here who have played both and could offer better comparison in that regard.

Hated the peter Karlsson gen II and to be honest if I can handle that, I can handle anything labelled difficult to handle. Loved the G1 and the Loki arthur china but the thing is, Im in india where come the humid summers, the tacky rubbers aren’t very effective. The R48 was very good and I loved it until the factory booster wore off. A bit too bouncy but a very solid rubber.
I legit got confused by the H3 neo NBS. I find it very easy to use. It’s slow, yes but the spin levels are off the charts.
Dont like the R7, its wayyyyyy too safe. Ive played with the Mx p too with someone’s racket and also T-05 and d64. I really loved that combo and would put it on my own blade but couldn’t afford the rubbers rn.
For the blade, I’m preferring to change because of curiosity. I have used inner-carbon blades before so adaptation isn’t really a problem. Also Im looking at the HL5x. Supposedly thats a faster and spinnier variant of the hl5. Still looking up reviews. Might even go for a fortino pro, or carbonado 190(cannot find the 290 here).

Regarding the butterfly rubbers, How is the D80?

You could always try throwing on H3 37 on the backhand? It can drop the ball short like how your H3BS does, it can be slow and fast when you need it to be, very spinny, and it's cheaper than 09C.

I thought of that. Its gonna add more weight to my racket and I dont want that. I’ve put the Loki Arthur china on both sides and it got heavy. Also I assume you’re referring to the non national h3?
It gets humid here in summers, so that tackiness loses its effectiveness . I ran into that with the LAC. It why i didn’t us it on backhand when i switched from the r48

I've used all three of them, but commerical I've had the most experience with. Right now I'm actually using Non-Neo H3 37 because I was curious about it and it weighs 47g with 2 layers of booster and 1 layer when I rebooted it, and that's commercial version. Usually it comes out to 48-50g, but the commercial one made the weight inconsistent so I had used provincial for a while and it was about 48-49g. This is coming from someone who is a penholder.

What is the difference between H3 neo national bs and commercial version?
I know there are quality differences but how do they differ in speed and spin?
What’s the difference between the boosted and non boosted version?
I definitely noticed weight is more consistent for the Provincial and National versions. Provincial and National can have both Blue and Orange Sponge while H3N 37 is only in Orange Sponge, but can be commercial, provincial, and national. Some of the threads I've read say that Orange Sponge is easier to activate while Blue Sponge has better spin potential, but I would recommend you to look in different threads since there are people that have train and/or trained in Asia that have much more experience and knowledge than I do. If you're in America and want to try H3N 37 Commerical, it's $25.95 USD and H3N 37 Provincial is $45.95 USD on Megaspin. I believe Neo has a more elastic sponge than Non-Neo (and I've read that some people say Neo is not boosted while some say it is), but I am not sure about that to be honest. I do know that Neo comes with a glue layer while Non-Neo doesn't.

Im in India. I did my research on the H3 series. I think the Orange sponge can be used on the backhand side just fine. But since I'm used to having hard rubbers on both sides, maybe thats just me. Otherwise, bext time I might go for D05 on the backhand and on the fh, one of the H8 series

I like using hard rubbers on both sides as well, but never tried D05 or 09C on BH, but I have tried H8 37 on BH and it is faster than H3N 37 so you could do H8 39-41 and H8 37 to see how you like it.

Yeah. Will see if h8 suit me on fh. In the meantime, i am going to look at another blade.

Are you a full-time professional player? I roughly know a couple of semi-pros, who reckon Viscaria lacks a bit of explosiveness (thus prefer Mizutani ZLC), but these are the exceptions.
Viscaria is a very fast blade. Do you own an original version or some replica from Stuor? ;)
Also, Viscaria is overall faster than Long 5x.
