Top 5 annoying practice partners

If you find a good practice partner, hold onto him/her like dear life itself. Just finding a practice partner around here is all but impossible ime. Much like JassaTableTennis said, everyone insists on playing matches. (When they REALLY need to practice.)

I practice with a guy who has a weird grip, which results in him looking like he's pulling the racket out his pocket when he forehands and backhands. Also, he doesn't know how to calmly and slowly forehand drive; for some reason, he goes all out no matter the shot. I can't practice with him, I can't practice when he's trying to "win a point" even in practice.

That's due to some player's mentality: "win the point as soon as possible" whether it's a game or practice/warmup. Another reason is many players shot mechanic lacks fundamental resulting they don't have the delicate control of the shots. They either do all out or just passive block.

JHB

says Aged and infirm of purpose
As a low-level player I tend to practise with other low-level players. Some of them are fine, others have no concept of a "knock" whatsoever so they try to win every point regardless ! The most annoying ones though are those who insist on chopping everything and slowing things to a snail's pace. Having said that I must be just as annoying because I'm left-handed so it's not easy to hit FH-to-FH with me unless you're a southpaw too, and then my FH isn't that accurate 'cos I rarely get a chance to practise it !!

People who say “No better practice than a match”
That’s my teammate.
But he’s not improving much. Perhaps he will finally understand it’s not the right thing to just come and play practice games

That's my mentality in matches because my 3rd ball attack is better than long rally and blocking skills. However I don't stand it during practice or pre match warmup.

During practice I often urge them to slowdown and absorb their power and give back more comfortable ball than they do for me. In warmups it's like they try to scare me right away. It can be useful though to observe how they try to win a point and give them something different in actual match
