It's has very good spin, bit heavy on the weight. I know a couple of choppers that use it.

The dig is heavy on the rubber so might work also you don't attack massively being more of a classic defence type player.

Other plus is it's pretty durable.

How's the season going in BL for you?.

Too hard, Tenergy 19 will be easier to use. Same goes for the VS 401 (also too hard).

Like I said, all the pro choppers use Tenergy. Even Joo Se-Hyuk used Tenergy when he still played.

Tenergy 19 is a rubber that will suit your needs.

Gionis and Filus use T05H. Wang Yang too. Last I saw of Wang Xi he was using 09C. Muramatsu is using V>20 Extra or something and Satoshi Aida is using RZEH. Joo is several years retired but he uses H3 now. All the Chinese choppers use Hurricane and do fine.

But I can't help myself seeing that so many people here are reccommending rubbers that are designed for mainly close to the table attacking play to someone that is chopping away from the table. It's not my first reccommendation

Hurricane is proven, tried and true. It's slow and easy to control. The others need professional touch for defense. T05 is really tough for someone that's not a professional to chop with consistently.

JSH and Koji Matsushita were both using Tackifire rubbers pre-glue ban, the phenomenon of choppers using really fast rubbers on fh is only a recent development when choppers have needed strong attack power all the time. Sticky slower rubbers have been a staple for choppers long before everyone started using Tenergy and whatnot

Which one should I try? And would I need to boost it? I've never boosted before I have no idea how to!

No boost, it's better it it's completely linear in power.

I'd say get the DHS Hurricane 3 NEO in 2.15mm and 39° sponge hardness. The general/commercial version that costs 25€.

It's cheap so even if you don't like it you won't have lost much. Just give it a few practice sessions, it gets better the more you play.

If you do like it, there's the provincial orange/blue that are absolute dreams to play with. Tackier and much better quality. Orange is a bit softer and easier to play with, blue has better support, most people end up playing with that.

I'd recommend seeking out the H3 Neo orange sponge (#20) provincial grade (midgrade quality, six sides cut) with 39 or even 38 degree hardness. 38 degrees is the easiest hardness to play without boost but its not really conventionally Hurricane-like hardness. 39 can be a bit hard for non-Hurricane users but its not too hard if you've got good strength. 40 is generally used by boosters and 41 is made for guys who hit really hard.
