Westfield Training Camp (meeting Des Douglas)

Hi all,

So today has been an eventful day i went to Westfield table tennis camp for the first time, they had loads of coaches including Craig Bryant and also Hannah Hicks. I learnt loads that will help me physically and mentally in the sport.

It actually turned out that the person sitting next to me on journey to Wellingborough was no other than Desmond Douglas, he was very polite and we had some interesting conversations on what it takes to be a professional in table tennis and the one thing I'll always remember des said to me that "it's true practice makes perfect but only if what your practicing is perfect"
I also had a 1 to 1 coaching session with des on third ball attacking when to drive the ball and when to place the ball and where (I even caught him out with one of my serves). I will post the video in the next couple of days :)

Huge recommendation to take a look into this camp think the next one is at Christmas time.

Hi, I also attended the Westerfield Training Camp. It was excellent, and very well run by Greg, Tim and Ian Yarndell. I had previously attended the Xmas Camp, and had enjoyed it so much that I decided to go to the Summer Camp as well. The highlights for me were the `one to one` coaching sessions, which you can have videoed. The coaches, - Craig Bryant, Gavin Evans, Hannah Hicks, Gordon Fearn and the legend Desmond Douglas were all very helpful and encouraging. I will definitely be back again.
