What’s the difference?
I think TG2 is slower than TG3.

I have a batch of TG2 that seems to be from a couple years ago. They are quite tacky. The TG3 I have seem to the newer less tacky version.

What’s the difference?
Long time bug fan of Skyline 2.

The difference lies in the pimple structure. TG2 has shorter thicker pimples while TG3 has thinner and taller pimples.

It means TG2 feels dead when stroke is compact and moderate. TG3 is faster with compact stroke.

But the max speed and spin ceiling is higher with TG2, even higher than H3.

I heard that Ma Lin used TG2 in most of his career, maybe that explains his super touch over the table and his monstrous full swing FH can unleash true potential of the TG2 :p

Ma lin always tries to end the point as soon as possible so he opts for tg2 which helps boost his 3rd ball attack and control over the serve& receive game.
For wang hao, he is not afraid to have prolonged rallies since he can attack well with both his fh and bh. Tg3 being easier to use probably gave him enough forgiveness during clutch moments.

TG2 excels in service and short game as well as third ball attack.
