What do you folks think of the Marty Supreme x JOOLA collection?

Obviously the release is targeted at recreational players, but I've always wondered why table tennis equipment brands don't do more cross-over collabs like basketball sneaker brands do, like Nike with SpongeBob, and the Spacejam LeBron's. I do remember Butterfly had a crossover with the minions that was a solid blade performance-wise.

I wrote a short reaction piece about this and would love to hear what you guys think - do y'all care about design at all or only about performance?

curious to see the article and learn more about the collab. design/style is certainly important in my opinion because if only performance mattered then we would stick to the normal stuff

well, i didn't really know much at all about this collab (besides seeing an announcement to stay tuned) but I like how the table looks and I see the racket kit.

no particular questions but of course interested in anything you'd like to share. i enjoyed the movie and im sure it was a cool experience working on the collab.

Basically spanned almost a year from start to launch. I handled the bulk of it on the JOOLA side. Obviously they had design preferences (like printing the racket surfaces) and also pricepoints they wanted to hit, so it fell back on me to try and elevate on the product side as much as possible within the parameters 😇

That's awesome!

Not an easy task by any means to balance all that. Love the look of the table (delivery personnel better be on their best behavior) and the racket kit certainly captures the feel and style of the movie.

Thanks for sharing, a performance blade or racket would have been fun but it wasn’t in A24’s scope for the project 😇 I do have another collab coming soon that has some more high end rec style rackets 😁
