Hello everyone,
I know it might be a strange or even stupid question but I wish to hear your opinion about it.
I play against young boys in my club a lot (from 12-17 years old, really good players, all high ranking in Poland in their respective age groups. They like playing with me, many say they have 'interesting rallies' with me. However, when I asked each of them what style they think I am, their first word was....'uncomfortable' , as in they do not like the tempo I play, they say I slow things down and not allow them into their rhythm, etc. They all are trained in modern, attacking style while I mostly play....all types of stuff but I try to attack when needed. I was a self-learner for majority of my time playing table tennis, mostly practising moves I saw on TV or Youtube/Video google (yes, that old). I mostly watched players like Kalinikos Kreanga, Timo Boll, Vladimir Samsonov, Aleksandar Karakasevic, that generation of players.
I guess my main question is : Is there a name for such style that they described ? Slowing down with pushes, chops, I guess topspins but with less power ? I am curious because technically it speaks 'controlled attacker' but if I am slowing them down, does that qualify as being 'offensive' ?
As I said, perhaps it is a dumb question but I'd like to hear your opinions.
