What to do with this?

I decided to change rubbers onto an old blade. And I saw this:
Parts of the sponge and the glue don't want to be removed. The only way I can remove it is to scribble with a fingernail. But it is soo tiring. Any ideas what can I do?

lay 2 -3 layer of kitchen tissues over the blade and slowly soak them with mineral turpentine. Do not flood them just keep them nicely moist. After 10 -15 minutes you will be able to gently push the now soggy rubber away with a spatula. Make sure the spatula has the edges rounded otherwise they get caught in the wood. Do the other side then dry the blade.

acetone may work too. Someone must have used the wrong type of glue. Rubber based glue should come off easily with a little heat from a hair dryer and rubbing.

Acetone helped! This "glue" rolled up almost like water based glue. But now my room smells worse than H3 Neo.

yes , dabbing fingers in acetone is a most idiotic suggestion and if one follows it one might end up with contact - dermatitis and suffer for years with eczemas.

Acetone is an irritant but non-toxic nonetheless. It is the main compound in nail polish removers. You'll be fine.

it is not a matter of toxicity and skin is not the same as finger-or toenails.
Acetone will wash out all the essential oils out of the skin laying it open and making it susceptible to all kind of skin problems.
