What's up with Timo's knee?

I saw in a very recent match against Darko Jorgic, Timo Boll's knee is heavily wrapped up. Anyone know what the issue is?

every top athlete;s problem. At this level one asks from the body more than it is
capable of giving and on a regular basis...............then something gives or lets go.

This is a rather standard knee protection which isn't doing much but giving a sense of a stability especially in lateral moves. Sooner or later we all have some sort of it in our bags. For example I've seem most of the CNT stars using the (McDavid) Knee Strap/patella ....Ive also seen different brands which look similar

Guys... he's aging, with a very physical game style, so not surprising he gets to deal with some problems. After 40 the most common problem for knees is arthrosis, simple as that. To me it has nothing to do with the CNT pattela brace dogma that mostly comes with genetical problems/growth issues, like the infamous Osgood/Schlatter condition (Alexis Lebrun is dealing with that problem since he's 12 or so). As far as I know, Timo never had to deal with a knee problem in his youth. So, yeah... arthrosis.
