WTTC Qualifiers in Japan

We had this week the 1st round of qualifiers for the JNT. There will be a 2nd round with seeded players in Match. The winner of the second round will earn a slot for the WTTC 2019 in Hungary. Another slot is for the winner of the national championships in January 2019.
If I'm correct, 3 other slots are automatically decided with ranking and if it coincides with the winner of the qualifiers or national championships, coaches will award wild cards.

For this 1st round, 20 players were divided in 2 groups of 10 where everybody plays together and then there is a final match between equally ranked players from both groups.

Hayata won her 10 matches and dropped only 1 set !!!

Great to see Uda getting in! Also great that Sora won a couple matches as well as taking a game off Ueda etc.
Can't really say how T league affected their performance as Kazuhiro got in and Kenta & Jin couldn't.

It is a pity Hina Hayata ...She did not have time to drop into the TOP-10 ITTF rating by the beginning of 2018 ....In the second half of 2018, she scored several halves .....
The expected rating for January 2019 - 7531 ....Without an opportunity to improve the result in February and March .....And this means a game only through qualifications ....

I'm disappointed for HASHIMOTO Honoka, i thought she would do better.

They might get in via selector's recommendation but that tends to be awarded to young players. Which means Uda/Tanaka/Togami might have a priority.

Women's league is fierce as usual. Agreed on Hashimoto. Her defensive style is very pleasing to the eyes. Hope to see her come back strongly.

Not separate. Japan Top 12 is part of the Trial for WTTC 2019.

Probably for 2020 but not for 2019. Selected players are required to participate Top 12 but the results will not count towards WTTC 2019.

Another interesting result:

Kihara Miyu - Nagasaki Miyu 3:0

Looks like Miyu is the better player already despite being 2 years younger, she looks more primising.
