If I could offer one piece of advice based on what works for me, I’d say you should settle on your rubbers and choose a setup that suits your current technical level and stage of development. Constantly switching equipment or using very different setups can make it harder to build consistency and keep progressing!
Very well aware of that. But it's simply so addictive to try new combinations of rubbers and blades! I also do tennis and badminton, and although there's a wide selection of rackets and strings in both those sports, it's nowhere near the almost endless variants we have in table tennis.
And I don't do "mindless" equipment junkying, never have. I've come to realise that carbon simply will destroy my natural technical progression, so no carbon at all for years to come. That leaves all-wood and synthetic materials not carbon, for example the blades I mentioned. I also like softer blades with vibrations, yet somewhat solid feel (Acoustic) and relatively flexible. I dislike hollow feeling blades, like Butterfly Korbel. Don't like thick, stiff 7-ply blades like Stiga Clipper.
For rubbers, I prefer medium hard to hard hybrid tensors on my fh, like Nuzn 48 or Victas v 20 Extra. On bh I dislike low throw and need some catapult, sponge hardness 45-47.5.
So yeah, still EJing, but within a quite narrowed down field. Like Goldilocks, I want my porridge not too hot, not too cold, but just perfect.
