I´ve been playing the Xiom IceCream AZXi for 2-3 Weeks now and I will compare it to my old Xiom Allround S, that I´ve played for like 8 years.
Rubbers: Joola Dynaryz CMD (2,3mm)
Playing Characteristics
You can instantly tell that this is a carbon blade, high pitch sound, lower vibration and good speed (obviously higher than the All Blade).
Switching the Blades was easy, because it has lots of control and nice feel.
I could generate more spin in my, admittetly not so good, serves. Openups on Backspin feel better aswell.
My Topspins are lower, more powerfull and all in all more deadly. I tend to play the ball over the table at times, due to my muscle memory still playing like it is the old Blade.
But when I gain confidence with it I play shots as good as never before.
Surprisingly playing short feels great and was very easy. So variaty in lengh and speed is very good with it.
The two different Carbon plys are noticble aswell with different catapult and vibrations. (I play ALC on FH and ZLC on BH)
I feel like with a bit more practice I can reach another level with this Blade!
Design and Quality
The Design is great and unique in my opinion with its two tone design.
With the ALC side having an orange accented handle and the ZLC purple (looks nice with purple Rubber).
A nice touch are the prints on the flares showing you which Carbon is on which side.
Mine is slightly more heavy then to older on but I got used to it very quickly.
It has a uniqe flared handle that is quite thin, making it ever so slightly more headheavy, weirdly it gave me instantly the impression of an more offensive Blade. With my decently sized hands it was still nice and comfy. (I suggest you just try holding it in a store if you have doubts)
The Quality is great with metal Shields on both sides of the handle and one (I think plastic) at the bottom.
In conclusion this blade is great for experienced players that play offensive with both sides, while still maintaing control or want to make the first step into carbon Blades.
The only downside for me was its price, luckily one fellow member offered me his for a great price.
