Pretty Good Rubber
Pros
  • Pretty Tacky (Not as tacky as a Hurricaine 3)
  • Pretty Fast
  • OK Spin
Cons
  • Heavy
  • Expensive
  • Hard to loop and apply spin
The Dignics 09C was my first rubber on a custom racket. It served me well as I was initially trying to find a Hurricane 3. It wasn't as tacky but did do its job. It was a bit heavy to start off with, but you can get used to it. The main drawback was that the spin for looping or heavy spin chops just wasn't enough. This is still a good rubber overall but lacks large amounts of spin which sometimes is needed.

Even for backspin looping, your technique is just not good enough. D09c has with hurricane the most potential for spin.

I can say I haven't played as long as you guys, however I do feel after playing with Dignics 09C that the feel is more grippy rather than tacky giving it a slight difference in the top spin that comes out it than the Hurricane 3.

I agree with your reply that the O9C is only lightly tacky with lots of grip, particularly compared to an old school H3. It does give a different feeling to the rubber. Comparing to a Neo H3 I would say the Neo H3 is still tackier but not by a lot. One thing I noticed between the two is the maintenance to keep them Tacky. It is easy to bring it back on a H3 of any type with the old bit of water and a non adhesive coversheet. But you can't do this on the 09C. So if the owner skips Cleaning after a session the rubber will be impacted. For the 09C I religiously use the Butterfly spin refresh cleaner and the adhesive cover sheet as they advise and my blade has actually become a little bit more tacky but nothing like what you can do to a H3. I can pick the ball up with my 09C but I can't walk around the room like a H3.

I bit the bullet and bought a sheet of 09C black max.I have been using Neo H3 Provincial blue sponge 41 degree, boosted with 4 layers of seamoon oil.I replaced the H3 with 09C on the same blade - Stiga nostalgic OFF. After 5 hours of play, I can write the following comparison.ServiceH3 definitely reign in short spinny service. I struggled to keep my service short with 09C. It's claimed to be tacky. But the tack is about 20% of what is on H3. Understandably it was difficult to produce comparable spin with 09C.Close to table flat hit09C reigns in this area due to the powerful sponge and semi-tacky topsheet. But the ball tends to go very long. I had to adjust the angle.Lifting back spinBoth are equally easy in this area. It is quite easy to engage the sponge in 09C to produce tons of spin. However, H3 still produces more spin.Topspin rallyIt is easier to counter loop topspin with 09C. You don't have to have a full swing to do power loop.Let's 50% power produces 70 spin in 09C, and 60 spin in H3. 70% power produces 80 spin in 09C but 85 spin in H3. If you give 80-90% of your full swing, 09C might top at 100 but H3 can go 120.Bear in mind, I was using 41 degree H3. If you use 39degree you might bottom out sooner, thus equal spin with 09C.ConslusionSpin (service, loop in high impact): H3>09CSpin (loop in low to medium impact): H3=09CSpeed: H3<09C

1. topsheet is slightly tacky only. Imagine Spinart but with a slightly tacky surface
2. speed is off to off+. It is significantly slower than Dignics 05 and slightly slower than Tenergy 05.
3. Spin sensitivity is more compared to Tenergy 05 and D05 with the D05 being the easiest to handle.
4. Arc is lower than T05 or D05.
5. D05 is the easiest to produce spin, on higher levels the D09c might be spinnier but it needs more effort. There are instances that both T05 and D05 are much more spinny.
6. Its strength is more on spin drives and counters near and away from the table and it outshines T05 and D05 in that area.
