Bristol academy table tennis has been running for around 7 years attracting players from all over the country and world to come and train.
The Bristol Table Tennis Academy, based at filton college, allows students to combine full time academic studies with 15+ hours a week of high-standard table tennis training. students also have access to top class gym facilities, as well as specialist support from strength and conditioning staff and chartered physiotherapists.
The Bristol Table Tennis Academy is headed by the former International Player and coach Kevin Satchell. Kevin is former junior and senior international player and has been a highly successful national team coach with both England and Scotland. Supporting Kevin is assistant coach and former Hong Kong International Choi Sze To.
The college is the current holders of the english schools team championships, a title that they have held for the last 3 years. the college also won the girls team event in 2008. the academy also won a silver medal in the european schools in zagreb in 2007.
Players wanted to apply have to be 16 or above at the start of their course, and to have a played at reasonable competitive standard.
