Tenergy combinations

Hi guys, im thinking about getting tenergy on my forehand and backhand and by the looks of things, 05 seems like the best sort of rubber as it has both good speed and spin with decent control aswell. which tenergy would you suggest i should get, at the moment i am thinking of getting 05 on my forehand as it is fast and has good spin and getting 05fx on my backhand as it is still quick (I think) and has more spin. Whic ones do you think i should use on my FH and BH???

How is the Acuda S1 Turbo for you? I was thinking ordering one of them
The Acuda S1 Turbo is very fast and spinny. its best attribute is looping so if youre a looper i would definately go for it, its got good speed/power aswell so its good for drives. look at one of my reviews I made about it.

Yes, 05 to me seems the best as well, would you suggest having 05 on both sides or having 05fx on the backhand?

Have actually not played so much with the 05fx so I can tell you that much about it. I like 05 as a forehand rubber.

I can see that you use the Airoc M 2.1, why is that? are they fast/spinny/easy to control? I dont know anything about them

I have actually made a review on the Airoc M and why I have chosen to play with them that you can read :) In short terms I play with them because they suit my game style very well and they work good along with my blade. I also sometimes switch and play with Tenergy 05 on my forehand when I can get them to a good price, I think Airoc M is a good alternative to Tenergy 05 even though they don't feel quite the same.

I don't actually know, I don't order from the same place that often. Check out TT11, or maybe someone else knows any good site. I have bought and changed many of my Tenergys from friends where I could get a good price ;)

Plus side of Tenergy is that you can put a lot of power into it. Even the FX is still quite a hard sponge and is also fast. Downside is the control for less experienced player, they are also heavy and it's too easy to damage the top sheet with cuts and tears.

I used T05 and 05FX on the BH both in 2.1mm. They were glued to a Viscaria and to date I have not used a setup as pure as it. 05FX was an amazing BH rubber and the softer sponge suited the blade that I used it on. Very easy to generate heavy flicks and backhand loops. :)

Thankyou, i will take this into account. what made you use Andro rasant and rasant powersponge instead?

Personally I find 80 fx on both sides suits me better as I feel I have enough pace and spin with it and the control is something else! Maybe any fx rubber is too soft for you as you are used to using s1 turbo which would be considerably harder?

Yes you are right in saying that my current acuda s1 turbo's are harder than the "FX" sponges, however i feel that i can use the softer sponges quite well after trying them out and i am not really too "Used to" the harder kind of rubbers. I was thinking about maybe trying out the 80fx but i read some bad reviews about them, in what way would you say the 80 is better to the 05?

There seems little difference in the 05/80 rubbers to me, the main thing i think is the control of 80 in backhad play in particular, it does what 05 does but just seems safer with just maybe a tad more dwell! With the fx, I think this difference is exaggerated!

I use Tenergy 80 on both sides, used to use 05, I think 80 is better for me as when I punch with it, it seems more direct than the 05 was, whilst still giving lots of spin and power when I want it.
Thankyou for the insight, what is the timo boll ALC Blade like because that is the blade i am probably going to get with originally 05 FH and 05fx BH but now maybe 80? so how is the ALC?

Am i right in saying that Tenergy 80 is slower than 64 but faster than 05, and that it is less spinny than 05 but more spinny than 64?

That seems to be the case according to many others, but I really don't think there is much in it, I have not used t64 (although I've knocked with it) so can't really comment too strongly on that, if you try 80fx max on your bh, I'm sure it will be your new consistent best Freind!
