Hello!

I gave myself a nice christmas gift, four new blades, that all are 5 ply, and all have recieved good reviews. Now the blades are the following.

TSP reflex reward off (tabletennisdb speed rating 8.1)
Yasaka silverline all wood (tabletennisdb speed rating 8.4)
Tibhar stratus powerwood (tabletennisdb speed rating 8.9)
Yasaka sweden extra (tabletennisdb speed rating ???)

Now, my plan is to try all of these to find which one suits me best. I want to begin playing with the SLOWEST blade with the most CONTROL, and then move up as my technique improves. The problem is that the Sweden extra har not been rated. On Yasaka's website it is listed as faster than the Silverline all wood, which I think is a bit strange (?).

So my question is, where would you put the Sweden extra amongst these blades? And which one would be the slowest?

Thank you in advance!

Cheers.

From those i only try the silver line and the TSP. The TSP is faster. But not by much. They are both begginers blades (i'm begginer with proud!). I like the silver line more. it have a better feelling of the ball. I think it's more heavy too. but i'm not sure.

It seems you play with a Rosewood. Any of the blades you mencioned will seem like a slow truck compared with the Rosewood.

They are all good blades. Those numbers you are trying to use to determine the speed, the numbers usually are somewhat arbitrary and inaccurate because wood is not a set item. And all blades are made mostly of wood: even a carbon blade has to be 80% wood.

So if you took 5 Swedens and 5 Reflex Rewards, some of the Swedens may be faster than some of the Rewards and vice versa.

Choose one you like. They are all good blades and they are all pretty close to the same speed category.

Why not just hit the ball just with the blade, I guess you'll be able to spot the difference between the four?
