That's the thing: the sidespin is curving towards the BH. I know what he's doing, and I can see it just barely when the racket "stops" there, but it's definitely not obvious. I don't think I'd read it in a game unless I've seen it before in the session.

I'm several levels below Siva in terms of serves, so I would lose just purely based on them anyway, so me being able to perfectly read or not read his serves isn't a huge problem, I'd think. I'm more interested in how exactly he's getting so much spin with basically under 2cm of upwards movement.

@Archo, I guarantee that if you use the serving features in the TTEdge App and become a TTEdge member and use Brett's Receiver's Edge serve video section where he shows comparisons between backspin and topspin serves for different players, you will see his contact much more readily. In those videos you will see more than just comparisons between backspin and topspin, but the more you look at things like this, the faster you see through the slight of hand to what is actually happening.

That being said, that is a very good fake followthrough.

I think this highlights Siva's handspeed really well. I wonder what Brett will say. I still have not been able to serve a snake serve that fits my RP motion (which is not the same as Siva) and which doesn't disgust Master Snake yet. Most of my efforts have been lizard serves.

Hey Darnner, it is. But, A kind of my own system. You are right about Zhang jike used a confusing motion in the near past, which you could judge the ball to be a pendulum and turns out to be the reverse. But, nowadays he changed his pendulum serves with a high toss motion and a lot of regular short toss pendulum serves. These serves are not deceptive like the ones he used in the past. His primary serve always is a reverse pendulum followed by a flick.
