Hey, just wondering if anyone has tried the Aurus prime and would Love to get a little review about it. Spin, speed, feeling, catapult, looping, open ups, BH or FH rubber. + Maybe how it compares to rasanter R47. But I would love a comparison to the MX-P since that is what I use at the moment. Thank you:):):):)

BH or FH depends on your game and preferences, I think - I am used to playing 47.5 degree on both sides, many prefer a softer backhand.

Aurus Prime feels and plays harder than R47 (max vs. ultramax), but generally the concept with the thick sponge makes sense on both. I have reservations about the stiff Aurus topsheet (which is not identical to any Rasanter or bluestorm, this direct from the horse´s mouth ...) working with thinner sponges, but the Aurus series always had stiff topsheets so friends and fans might feel ok with this.

It is a fast rubber as you would imagine, moderate catapult, you have to work it - but it pays. The feeling on impact is excellent and pretty much unrivaled - to me it seemed like gaining a few per cent extra of ball contact.

From hearsay, Aurus Prime rubber can be placed between R47 and R50 - if you like it a littler harder and compact than R47 but don´t want to go all the ways, try Aurus Prime.

And while we are at it, the Aurus Select is only a few degrees softer, but plays much softer than the Prime. It is not the same topsheet, or at least it is not as stiff, so the overall combination with the max sponge feels a little indifferent. Great for looping, enough power for away from the table play, but not the same sensational ball contact.

Conclusion: Try Prime in max, thinner only if you like it very compact/hard. Try Select in thinner sponge versions, otherwise it might just get a little mushy. That said, and with the almost identical sponge colour, I would prefer Select over Rozena any day - both are bouncy medium rubbers, but at least over here the Select comes 10 Euros cheaper with a sensible discount.

Thank you! Wow really does sound Nice in my ears. I would think that Aurus Prime would fit very well on my FH. My coach already ordered either Aurus prime or Aurus Select, I really don't remember which one hehe. But if I do get the Prime it is in 2.1mm. Can't wait until I'll get it and get to use it myself:)

I think you´ll find the Prime version equals your MX-P in terms of spin, but is a little more difficult to play on opening shots as it feels harder (same nominal sponge hardness). Once the game is open it´ll put a smile on your face. Don´t swap your EL-S for the Select, though. ;)

Tibhar 5Q sound power update

It´s good, not any recognizable update from the previous 5Q sound, but that was already a good rubber. But it is sooo much softer than your EL-S that you´ll need a good reason to switch ...

Yeah iknow, the EL-S is amazing but still, i make more unforced errors with this rubber than when i played with the 5Q sound. More controllable I feel.
